In his letter to the paper’s editor on April 22 entitled “On the anti-illegal immigration resolution,” Mr. Gregg White stated that one day a couple of weeks ago he saw a PWC police cruiser at the Marumsco Plaza. Mr. White stated that the officer in the cruiser “stared” at two groups of Latino males in the parking lot, causing them to disperse.  Mr. White implies that the officer was “racist” and “targeted” the men because they were Latinos.  Mr. White’s biased, unfounded conclusion is unfair, preposterous and ignorant. What facts does he have ?

Did Mr. White ever consider that the officer may have received a call regarding suspicious activity in the parking lot? Were the men in violation of loitering laws?  Were there any other extenuating circumstances that were related to law enforcement that the officer was investigating? Mr. White, in his criticism of the officer, is the typical illegal alien apologist who is quick to label those who uphold and enforce the law as “racist.”

The resolution is not divisive and racist, it is people like Mr. White who have caused the division in the county and perpetuate the labeling of those who enforce the laws as racists.

The truth is that BOCS chairman, Corey Stewart, Supervisor John Stirrup and other board supervisors who support the resolution have done a commendable job in responding the illegal alien problem that has plagued and nearly bankrupted Prince William County.

I commend the PWC police officer who was on duty that day doing his job and I applaud the entire PWC police force for enforcing the law.

self inflicted wounds would be along the lines of not staying in school to get a decent education. refusing to use our language properly but using street slang instead because it sounds cool. dropping out of school to hang out, get high etc. intentionally dressing like a clown, showing your underwear and then complaining because people wont take yo use serious or give you a fair shot. That would be a start. I will say, the mexicans generally dress decent, most i’ve met work hard and their kids take full advantage of the education that is offered them and their parents make sure they do. Quite often the immigrants, legal or not, have a far greater appreciation to what is offered than many of our own natural born, spoiled, lazy, entitlement bound citizens.

cobra, why don’t you tell us what problems in the minority community are self inflictedc?  You cna’t because you just don’t have the guts.  It is interesting that you go to lengths to separate the “white’ vs. minority - this in dicates deep rooted racism on your part. Remember:  white trash never admit they are racists.  Before you can attempt to overdcome the problem, like an alcoholic, you have to admit you have the problem.

We see it here everyday on this site. Baseless allegations by the illegal alien apologist such as Nancy Lyle with Mexicans without Borders (aka Mexicans without Laws). They have utter contempt for the law. Selective enforcement of our laws is what they want for the Illegal Aliens. I have noticed that they are running out of names to call us as they know that in 2008, the racist label no longer works for this generation. White America is finally starting to realize that many of the problems in the minority community are self inflicted and not our fault but they continue to blame others for their plight. None of us is responsible for them either entering the country illegally or overstaying their VISA. When they are deported, they have no one to blame but themselves.
