Comparing people to Nazis is reprehensible

A letter written by George Kraus, entitled “Orwellian update from Prince William County” appeared on this page on April 27.  Mr. Kraus referred to Board of Supervisors Chairman Corey Stewart as
Obergruppenführer, and said he was using the Prince William County police force “...as his own personal brown-shirt militia.”

After reading the letter, I believe a short history lesson is needed.  Obergruppenführer, translated as “Senior Group Leader” was a Nazi Party paramilitary rank that was first created in 1932. Heinrich
Himmler was one of the first Nazi leaders appointed to the rank of SS-Obergruppenführer. The Sturmabteilung, or “brownshirts,” functioned as a paramilitary organization of the German Nazi party. It played a key role in Adolf Hitler’s rise to power in the 1930s.

Illegal immigration completely aside, I think it reprehensible for anyone to defame Mr. Stewart by calling him a Nazi Obergruppenführer, or to liken the men and women of the county police department to
Nazi thugs. Regardless of the political issue, more civil discourse is in order, not less. Name calling serves no good purpose. We should all exercise restraint, maturity and respect for the opinions of
others when debating the issues.

Cobra, thanks for the “names” or titles.  I’ll add them to my collection.  I’ve been in my life time called:  communist, liberal, socialist, nazi, conservative, radical, atheist, and a whole lot of other things.  It’s all indicative of how bigoted and ignorant folks are when it comes to exercising an opinion or free speech.

phdee,
Glad to see they let you out for dinner today. Those rubber walls can be tough on a person. You are the #1 Traitor Illegal Alien Apologists on this site. When will we see you in Cuba or Venezuela bashing America with your good friend Cindy Sheehan?

Cobra, Mr. Stewart’s children will just have to get used to him being called a fascist, axi, racist, etc.  After all, that’s what he is basically.

blue_doggett, I was wondering where George W. Bush fit on that list of mass murderers. 4,000 plus American troops have died in the Bush Re-election Campaign as well as hundreds of thousands of Iraqis. Toss in torture and human rights violations and certainly he makes the top 10.

Hell yeah Ray,
I would deport Albert Gonzales tomorrow. He was not qualified to be AG and we see why he was bounced out of office. Send him back with all the other Anchor Babies.

Civil discourse is needed on all sides.  I find it odd that some of the people cheering on Mr. Goldstein are still doing the name calling thing.

Why do people always leave off Stalin when talking about mass murders?

cobra, now for the funny part. Alberto Gonzales was appointed Attorney General of the USA by President Bush. In his bio, Gonzales states that 3 of his grandparents were not documented and “may have” entered the USA illegally. As a Hispanic with illegal roots, I guess Gonzales should be sent back to Mexico and denied his citizenship rights as a ‘border baby’.

Boo hoo.

Sorry Wayne,
History means nothing to the illegal alien apologists here in PW County. They will say and do almost anything to advance their cause. They are quick to point out how mean spirited it is to deport someone who has children in the country, but ask them if they give a damn about Corey Stewart’s children who have to hear their father being compared to the worst mass murder in history? We now see the Hispanic community comparing their plight to the civil rights movement of the 1960’s. Please enlighten me on how you can compare those that enter the country illegally of their own free will to those that were brought here in chains in the bottom of a slave ship. Just please tell me how that comparison stacks up. It will be many many years before Hispanics will be able to get the respect of the American people and they have no one to blame but themselves.

Mr Goldstein, this is part of the liberal mind kind, brain wash and re-write the history are some of their tools.
