So old “Blue Eyes” has now gotten honorable congressional recognition by having his own commemorative postage stamp, as well as having previously been awarded the Congressional Gold Medal. Is this starting a trend? Are other singers and actors or actresses to be honored in the future? How about Mel Torme, Tony Bennett, Nat King Cole, Doris Day or Ella Fitzgerald.
It’s not that I did not like Sinatra’s singing or acting. I feel that he was extremely qualified in both areas, but is this something our Congress should be involved with instead of concentrating on our downscale economy and bringing an end to the “no win” war in which we are engaged?
