Thanks to Prince William’s Committee of 100 for sponsoring the Sept. 18, 11th Congressional District debate in Montclair between Gerry Connolly and Keith Fimian.
There was a great contrast between Connolly and Fimian. Connolly has 14 years experience in public office while Fimian has none.
Connolly has a mastery of the issues affecting our nation and Northern Virginia as demonstrated when he fielded questions concerning the meltdown on Wall Street and the failing economy, our
transportation problems, the federal BRAC base realignment and a number of other matters. Fimian, on the other hand, has a lesser grasp of the issues and his answers were vague and general. He hit
Connolly on Fairfax County’s $430 million projected revenue shortfall, but all municipalities are facing revenue shortfalls due to falling property values and the nation’s economy.
One expects a candidate for Congress to be prepared to discuss important issues with some degree of specificity, like Connolly did, but Fimian often seemed at a loss for words as he delivered simplistic
responses that had little to do with the questions at hand. He pointed to his success in business, which is a plus, but there are big holes in his resume.
Connolly’s experience, expertise and common-sense approach to governing was very evident at the Committee of 100 debate. It was clear to anyone who was undecided at the 11th Congressional District
debate that Gerry Connolly is definitely our best choice for Congress this year.

In the process of questioning Comnnolly’s claims of a reduction of 32% in gang violence in Fairfax County when this info contradicts their own police department, the only response I could get from the Connolly campaign was their source of this statistic was the Washington Post. How ridiculous! That would be like referring to the Pot News for accurate information and crime statistics rather than go directly to the source.

FIMIAN is The Best we can get.Just listen to him talk. He cares about the people.
Connoly never has cared. He’s all for himself. He’s one of those that keeps getting elected in Fairfax but I haven’t met anyone who likes him. He’s like our Barg here ,talk the right talk and you get elected, even tho you do nothing.
I pray the Fimian takes the office as a blast as he will be good for all people.
Vote Fimian

Connolly’s fourteen years experience mean absolutely nothing if he wasn’t looking out for the best interests of Fairfax County residents during his time in office. He used his position to ingratiate himself with the developers and corporations who want to keep him in office.Rather than give the Fairfax County School System credit for raising SAT scores and achievements, he freely takes the credit as if he had something to do with raising student’s test scores. He lies about crime and crime statistics in Fairfac County on a regular basis.. He supports the Islamic Academy in Fairfax, where allegations of child abuse and anti-American literature have surfaced because he receives campaign contributions from this school.
Frankly, it would be refreshing not to have a “politician” running Fairfax County. Change is needed, and Fimian is the right person for the job.
