Cut the cost of anti-illegal resolution

In Greg Letiecq’s recent expression of disappointment with the Potomac News’ editorial on his social activism, Greg asserted that “dangerous criminal aliens are now being systematically removed from our community.” Greg’s bogeyman fantasies have produced a lot of heat in the past year. But it is questionable there are a bunch of dangerous criminal aliens wandering about the county.
The Prince William County Criminal Alien Unit was established earlier this month when the police department was required to question suspects as to their immigration status. Going forward, the department will likely report just how many dangerous aliens have been picked up. Then Greg and the rest of us can pore over these stats and determine whether the resolution is accomplishing anything or is just political claptrap that helped some folks get elected last year. (The numbers that have been cited by Chairman Corey Stewart relate to pre-resolution initiatives).
Greg’s assertions are especially timely given the budget decisions that must be made. Certain board members, including Lt. Gov wanna-be’s appear to be more interested in their political careers than in the county’s needs.
It is important to remember that Prince William has the lowest taxes per capita in northern Virginia and we are among the lowest in teachers salaries. Nobody wants to pay more in taxes, but there is a price to be paid for quality and one of the first things we can cut are costs associated with the BOCS resolution.

Tell us Godsaveus:
“majority of residents relected Corey Stewart…“ - Out of 350,000 approx residents? You lie. He got about 16% of registerved voters who voted.

“minority in favor of the illegal immigration…“ - where is this poll or study? And who made it.  You lie again because you can’t prove it with any FACTS at all.

Thousands of released illegals who commit crimers—where is your stats and study?  Again, you lie and just made it up because you have no FACTS.

Why do you single out a Va. Beach case when there are plenty of cases involving legals, citizens, non-citizens, and illegals here in PWC?

What is your proof that Va. Beach is a sanctuary for illegal immigrantws?  Again, you lie - you simply have no proof. Please name your source.

Please, God, save PWC from this creep.

I dont think people are “in favor of illegal immigration” and certainly not so because we oppose the ‘resolution’......which i think was a political stunt.  Look at the ‘services’ we candeny them…and now, the crap the police will go thru catching Pedro coming home from his construction job!!  As I understand things, ICE doesnt have room for Pedro…ICE is looking for terrorism not Pedro!!!  The election,  Corey got 16% of the voters in the County….not exactly a mandate!!!

Many critics of the resolution care more about their pockets or are still hurt because the majority of PWC residents reelect Corey Stewart and the Board of Supervisor to take care and do something about illegal immigration. If you are part of the minority in favor of the illegal immigration, please wait to the next election cycle and let the BOS do their work. There are thousand of incidents related to delinquents illegal immigrants released and commit more crimes after they were released, instead to be immediately deported. Just remember the case of the two teenagers killed in Virginia Beach., this is what happened when you have a sanctuary city for illegal immigrants. The price that we will pay is not that high if you give a price to a human life.
