Michael Savage takes the focus off the children who are deserving of help when he uses extreme hyperbole in what he says he thinks addressed overdiagnosing autism and ADHD. It is better to focus on
helping these deserving kids out by finding the key to their problem rather than throwing the baby out with the bath water.
Speaking as a parent with personal experience with autism and ADHD and for the moms, dads and children in our country who experience the pain and frustration of autism, I can assure him not all
diagnosis are manufactured by doctors for incapable parents. Autism is a real condition that requires real care which includes therapy, medication and parenting tailored to their child’s special needs.
NASCAR has been a big help to kids who have autism. Let’s all join the race to help.

As someone with ADHD and a parent of a child with ADHD, I thank Tim for this important letter. When parents go to multiple, unrelated doctors, get a rash of medical and psychological testing and receive the same diagnoses, we can reasonably say, hey...they can’t all be wrong!
Now we have to find the roots of these diseases. Is it the environment? Does our system actually perpetuate these conditions? We need answers and better medical treatment NOW.
