Fortunately, we were spared Sharon Pandak

In the article covering citizen comments about the pending budget crisis for Prince William County, citizen Sharon Pandak was quoted as saying: “It’s only a couple of pizzas each month” in reference to the impact a higher rate would have on most county residents.
How out of touch is she from the other residents of Prince William County? I’ve already lost those couple of pizzas a month to fill my gas tank, pay my heat bills, and pay for groceries — all of which are taxed purchases. An increased tax bill is a much larger financial stressor than a couple of pizzas.
Ms. Pandak wanted to be our county chairperson, but with this out-of-touch attitude I’m grateful that she is just a citizen.
I am also grateful to the supervisors who understand this plight of balancing personal budgets as well as balancing the county budget.

Yes over the past 25 years I ran for 2 different offices. Now at least I can say I ran and didn’t leave it to someone else.I also was very active on Committee in the County, making positive advances for our County.
WHAT HAVE YOU DONE?
Pandak was an Attorney for the Board of
Supervisors. She advised them. She did not work for the citizens. She did alot of meeting with Builders.
We got the better of the two.

Ella, you obviously are the prolific Republican letter writter to the Pot News, and similar to Ralph Nader a frequent candidate for various offices who always gets defeated.
Pandak was county attorney, not on the Board. ALL Board members play politics with builders. Stewart even tries. His tactic is (or was) ignorance however. He thought PWC would become an upscale elitist place, that the board could raise builders’ proffers tens of thousands, they would pay it, and PWC could build expensive, upscale housing, and we could chase all the “undesirables” away (read: hispanic. Stewart’s real ignorance - just on business alone - was his statement that builders don’t pass along proffer costs to the home buyer. Are businesses passing along to you your food, fuel, and medical costs?
And now the foreclosures and Stewart’s racist - and political inspired - resolution have all resulted in a big “bust” - like the world evolving with a big “bang”. Or was it flatulence from a Republican. And rather than upscale. PWC is becomomg a ghost place and an ugly place to live. Killed off by Stewart, not Pandak.

I agree with Brenda, we lost 2 pizzas sometime ago.
Look at the price of gas and look at the price of food and the biggest item is the price of Medicine. Even if you have Medical Insurance. If your on 20 pills a day at 10 dollars ,thats $200 a month.
Stewart may have his faults, but he’s far better than Pandak. Her years at the County was playing games with the Builders.

mrbill, Unfortunately, in today’s world I don’t give out personal info, unless there is a need to know. PWC has too many kooks out there - have to be on guard of yourself and property (frtom experience). What is your need, maybe then I’ll let you know the answers.

A couple of pizzas a month was what we got back from the mighty Bush tax cut…well those of us who earn less than $1M/year anyway.
Being spared Sharon Pandak only to be stuck with Corey Stewart doesn’t seem such the bargain to me. I’ll take Pandak’s imaginative attempts to communicate the relative cost of the higher tax rate than Stewart’s racist blundering any day.

To go along with ghost towns, we got
“Ghost Riders in the Sky” - Vaughn Monroe or Johnny Cash.
Or was it “Shutters and Boards Cover the Windows in the House where we used to Live”.
