Frank Principi is the hero of PWC

There is a new, heroic person in our community — Supervisor Frank Principi of Woodbridge.
Facing 7 to 1 odds, he stood tall and was determined to address the fiscal and social reality of the local illegal immigration extremism that some county leaders have helped to create. He was vilely castigated by many obnoxious citizens at the recent budget hearing for daring to question the illogic of the supervisor super majority.
But the soundness of Principi’s diplomatic positioning prevailed, albeit not in it original form, but in the unanimously voted short-term solution. He created the environment that seasoned board members, who were stressed and beleagued, needed to find a better way to serve their constituents.
Why is this true? The simple answer is the other BOCS members just do not have Frank Principi’s crisis resolution skills and several do not have in their character his deep social values. To understand Principi you have to know he is a hard and tested expert at managing crisis conditions.
You may remember the tsunami devastation in Indonesia, but not know that Principi went there in the dangerous aftermath to help reestablish systems for governance in an area “washed” clear of all social trappings. At great personal risk he and others involved with him contributed what Americans are proudest of — offering an expert helping hand that expects no recognition.

Barnum, maybe we could get help together. That way, we could perhaps find out who is the kook.

barnum, all you have said is that “businesses pass on costs to consumers”. Sure, lots of hospitals are losing money; welcome to the business world. The hospitals pass on costs to health insurers - just as business are passing on gas costs today to consumers. You hardly have presaented any new economic theory to enlighten me, if that was your intent. Try watching the soap opera “As the World turns"…

phdee,
I’ll help you out with this a little since you seem to have no real knowledge of how the world works. The hospitals rates have gone way up to cover their losses. For a person that is insured, we see that affect in higher premiums. for someone that is not insured but does actually pay for the medical services, they’d see that in a much higher bill.

Mr. Westhoff, I’m afraid we can’t agree with your opinion. Principi has divided an otherwise united Board on this issue and placed the citizens of the county in a perilous position of possible regression.
Let the Rule of Law stand, and allow law enforcement to do its job without imposed restrictions. If Mr. Principi would do that, he and the other members may well be eventually regarded as heroes.

ejben, don’t blame insurance increases on illegals. Insurance rates are set by USERS of the insurance, and most illegals don’t have health insurance. It may be that govt’s help pay for hospital services for the uninsured, but private health insurance: no way. And don’t forget the economic greed of insurance companies to help raise premiums. So stop looking for scapegoats, i.e. illegals, but instead check your usage of the health plan.

mmarin, any other criminal can be questioned on the basis of suspicion, therefor anyone that cannot speak english provides enough suspicion to be questioned. Second, you say they can be deported AFTER they’ve broken a law. That starts with their first step across our border. As with the case of the 2 ms-13 gang murderers, lets wait until they kill someone first and then pay the legal fees to prosecute, detain and imprison and then deport them. Our prison system is already overflowing with illegals. Under our federal law, anyone of illegal status can be deported without having to commit even more crimes than they already have. Our country is full of drugs from our southern border. I’m sure they are only shipped to legal citizen drug dealers though, really ...

It is very interesting, just got a notice that our medical insurance is going up 3 fold a month,420 dollars and the county from which my husband retired is paying in addition to ours, 620 dollars a month.
How many others are seeing this large increase??
It certainly has got to be because of all the Free Medical and Medicade that some one is getting?I wonder who??
Illegals ????

Thank you supervisor Principi for your courage and for your fairness. Irrelevant of what some commentators say, the truth of the matter is that this resolution has opened the Pandora box for the hidden and now visible agenda whereby each ethnic and religious group is going to be subjugated to the will of the few. BOCS primary mission is to safeguard the unity of the community not to create a problem only to exploit it for their own short term political gains. This situation tells us one thing: we, the citizens must elect new leaders and do away with followers!
