Vic Poillucci asked for comments on his characterization of Gerry Connolly as “entrenched” and his Congressional opponent Keith Fimian as “new blood” (August 19). These apparently came out of Vic’s
bible of sound bites… catchy phrases — no substance!
Connolly is Chairman of the Fairfax Board of County Supervisors. He is a pragmatic, results-oriented leader. Fairfax, with a AAA bond rating, is one of the two best managed counties of its size in the
nation according to the Pew Institute.
And Time magazine recently called Fairfax one of the great economic successes of our time. Connolly is an integral part of everything going on in Fairfax and in effect, manages change.
By all accounts, he will provide this kind of leadership when he is elected to represent us in Congress. Connolly ’s expertise in finance, transportation and education at the local level gives him a unique
understanding of these and other issues. Also, he is no stranger to Capitol Hill, having served for 10 years as a senior committee staff person. This sounds like a quality background with dynamic
leadership skills, not entrenchment! Elect Gerry Connolly in November.

Hummmm do right. Clinton - Democrat - Budget Surplus, booming stock market, record job creation.
Bush - Republican - record deficts, crashing stock market, record job loss, country in recession.
Gee oh gee. I think I’ll vote Democratic.

Chairmen Connolly would only stand a chance on the Democrat ticket, has no backbone when it comes to crime enforcement,over spends taxpayers hard earn money,raises taxes,and finds no problem taking money from developers.
Chairmen Connolly is the perfect Democrat.

As a member of the Democratic Party, your comments are typical of your party’s agenda.
Chairmen Connolly has turned Fairfax County Government into a game only he and his developer friends can afford to play.The over development of Tysons Corner is a direct result of the “quid pro quo” method of doing business with the Lerner Corporation and other huge developers, who Connolly freely accepts huge campaign contributions from and protects their interests.
Chairmen Connolly has distorted his crime statistics and stance on Dominion’s power line proposal. His own police department members have stated that he is lying to the residents of Fairfax County in regards to gang activity. He supports Dominion’s power line proposal. that would severely impact over 70,000 residents that our board unanimously voted to oppose.
As an independent voter, I am not swayed by your party’s attempt to cover-up Chairmen Connolly’s distortion of the truth.

Godsaveus. It is not surprising that Connally is not your type. Reason: he has documented experience. You go for the “lipstick on a pig” queen: Palin, who experience wise is as naked as a jay bird. Birds of a feather flock together, as they say.
And yousay, foot in your mouth, that we need new people, not old politicians like Connally. Ha ha, how ignorant of you. Last time I checked we had an old fossil - Mccain, 72, with a foot in the grave, and 25 years in the Senate, running for President.
GodsaverL notice how queen pig Palin is being hidden and not allowed to do much independent speaking? Has to have subkects off limits, have advisors around, etc. Secrecy just like the Bush administration. The Repubs know she is inqualfied and knows little, and are therefore afraid she’ll put her snout into something that will be stupid and embarassing.

Wow! It is not often I agree with GSU, but he is correct. America needs fresh, exciting, new, youthful ideas on how to move this great country forward - such as those ideas expressed by Senator Obama. As GSU points out - stale, tired, run-through-the-wringer ideas of entrenched politicans such as John McCain have led this country to near failure and record deficits. John McCain promises us more of the same. We cannot afford eight more years of George W. McBush. Thank you Godsaveus for understanding that.

We need new people, not old politicians like Connolly. Connolly as Chairman of the Northern Virginia Transportation Authority voted to impose $300 million in new taxes on home sales, vehicle registrations, auto repairs, car rentals and hotel rooms to pay for needed transportation improvements in Northern Virginia. But it was one little problem: NVTA’s authority to raise taxes was declare illegal. . If Gerry Connolly has no problem raising taxes on working families in Northern Virginia, there is no doubt that he will be willing to do so in Congress.” Vote for Connolly and your taxes will go up. Where’s the Rail To Dulles you promised as pre-condition to vastly increasing the density of Tyson’s Corner Mr. Connolly?” What about all the disgusting, bigoted, anti-Catholic claptrap about Fimian , he do not have anything better way to run his campaign. And please do not tell me that he is not behind this nasty political campaign. Attack Femian for is religious believe is against freedom of religion. In the abortion issue he say that Femian is going to overturn Roe v. Wade is another lie, Femian oppose to government fund for abortion that this is a different issue. Connolly not only support abortion he goes beyond that, he support partial birth abortion it is even worst . Connolly supports that kind of procedure to terminate the life of an unborn baby, and he calls himself Christian. In immigration Connolly is even worst, he along with his buddy Tejada support to provide Driver License and full benefits include local tuition rate to college, something that denied to kids of military families, to illegal immigrants. Sorry, but he is not my guy.

Actually, Mr. Connolly should be running on the Republican ticket for vice president. He is far more qualified than their current choice. Residents of PWC should be thankful for the experience Mr. Connolly will bring to Congress on their behalf.
