This is in response to the article of Jeff Caswell Published on May 19, 2008.

The so-called man-made global warming is just another big fat lie ( Algoremania ), created for certain environmentalist groups, political groups, related industries and now, candidates, as McCain is
supporting the global warming mania for political gain and wants you to blame yourself. They use the tool of fear in order to gain power.

Kids at school are afraid to die like roasted chickens because of global warming. Global warming exist since the ice age when our planet was just a ball of ice. The ice start melting before the Jurassic time and will continue melting with or without any kind of human intervention. Stop blaming us because the polar bear is an animal in extinction. Thousand more species had despaired due to the natural process of global warming. We can not stop the process of global warming.

We can help to slow down the process, we can promote a cleaner planet, we can help some species in the process of extinction, we can move toward energy independence and promote the use of alternative energy.  But, global warming is just fantasy and ignorance.

We are living in a geological epoch called Holocene. It started 9500 years B.C., also considered an interglacial period. At the end of this period, in 50,000 more years according to scientists, another ice age is going to come, more deadly than global warming.

You keep bringing up cows like this is some big secret.  Yes, we’ve all heard that the meat industry contributes to global warming.  And?

I only point out Al gore because he’s way off base and he is what feeds this into the kind of debate it has become. We knew years ago there is a hole in the ozone over australia. But when you get a whacko like gore running around saying the kind of stuff he’s saying, it pushes people in the wrong directions. Cows, yes Cows, cattle, bessie, hamburger, steaks has been the single biggest factor in the depletion of our ozone. fossil fuels are a pollutant just like the sludge that was dumped in our rivers in the old days. Global warming could actually calm hurricanes down. the recent tornado activity in the midwest is due to the cold snowy conditions in the Rockies. If you want people to buy into solar panels and wind energy, there needs to be a public campaign to do so and to enlighten people on their personal $ gains. The polar ice caps used to reach all the way into the US. They’ve been melting for thousands of years so you have to be kind of careful about how you make that arguement. If You want us to leave Gore out of this, then do not use his fiction as a basis of information for a debate.

Godsaveus you need to be careful jva will start calling you names because dare to say that man is not causing global warming. Don’t you know that is sacrilege to the Religion of Global Warming.

Again, I don’t see what politicians have to do with any of this.  I’m not concerned about global warming because of anything Barrack Obama has to say about it.  I’m concerned because scientists have been warning about global warming for many years now, and the polar ice caps seem to be melting and breaking off into the sea.  And I could be wrong, but it sure seems like we’ve had a lot more extreme weather events over the past few years.

This has to be the stupidest thing ever to make a political issue.  Its not about ideaology.  Its a fact either supported by science or not.

You guys show your true colors by discussing the issue in terms of Al Gore or Obama or McCain or whomever.  You don’t care about facts.  You care about your “side” being “right”.

Either way you just sound ridiculous.

You are right barnun a guess some of the knuckleheads need to illustrate a little bit more about the difference between Global Warming has a cyclical natural process and the influence of the humans in the process of acceleration of this phenomenon.  The political campaign promoted for environmentalist that the global warming has only human causes and we can control the climate with taxation and regulations. May be the government wants to be the national climate thermostat. Barack Obama wants to set our thermostat to 80 degrees in summer and 60 in winter to save energy and reduce the green house effect.

There is a huge difference between agreeing on a warming trend and buying into the whole Al gore thing. the earth IS getting warmer and has been slowly since the last ice age. that is an undisputed fact. Cows do more to accelerate this process than cars. I didn’t hear gore calling for a low emissions plan for the productions of steak and milk. Global warming happened before the last ice age too. it will eventually happen again after the next ice age. Why did the ice melt off north america ? Why did egypt turn from green and plush to a sandy desert within the age of humans ?  We didn’t have fossil fuels until 100 yrs ago. See, you just have to be careful and sensible as to how you read into this issue. BTW, I’m all for solar and wind energy and the new breed of electric cars like the Tesla. And where the heck is the US high speed electric train systems ?

jva I have done the research and solar activity has been the main cause and it doesn’t matter what the politicians say. They are jumping on an issue trying to further their carriers because they see it as a hot topic. You will see the temperatures
decline in the years to come. Just wait and see.

While you’re busy debunking global warming, I thought you’d enjoy this article from the 1950s arguing that cigarettes don’t cause cancer too.

Really.  What do scientists know?  Smoke up!

Godsaveus,

If you are correct that we cannot reverse climate change, then your handle is very apt.  I was living on the Mississippi Gulf Coast when Hurricane Katrina blew through.

While there is a natural cycle of hurricane activity, nothing in those models accounted for a 300 mile storm front other than elevated sea tempertures, which had a direct link to increased global tempertures and climate change.  Which in turn was directly linked to increased elevations of CO2 and other heat-trapping gasses.  Under the exisiting climate models, Huricane Katrina and the typhoon that just wiped out most of Mayanmar are but a small taste of things to come.

And yes, I put my money where my mouth is by moving away from the Mississippi Gulf Coast, a place I truely loved.

God Save Us from our follys in ruining this planet.  I’m not posting any more on this topic.  As jVA noted, there’s no reason for me to try and convince a wingnut of this if they can’t/won’t already see the truth.
