This is in response to the article of Jeff Caswell Published on May 19, 2008.
The so-called man-made global warming is just another big fat lie ( Algoremania ), created for certain environmentalist groups, political groups, related industries and now, candidates, as McCain is
supporting the global warming mania for political gain and wants you to blame yourself. They use the tool of fear in order to gain power.
Kids at school are afraid to die like roasted chickens because of global warming. Global warming exist since the ice age when our planet was just a ball of ice. The ice start melting before the Jurassic time and will continue melting with or without any kind of human intervention. Stop blaming us because the polar bear is an animal in extinction. Thousand more species had despaired due to the natural process of global warming. We can not stop the process of global warming.
We can help to slow down the process, we can promote a cleaner planet, we can help some species in the process of extinction, we can move toward energy independence and promote the use of alternative energy. But, global warming is just fantasy and ignorance.
We are living in a geological epoch called Holocene. It started 9500 years B.C., also considered an interglacial period. At the end of this period, in 50,000 more years according to scientists, another ice age is going to come, more deadly than global warming.

So, is the issue that you’re afraid you’re going to have to pay more taxes because of global warming?
Or have you been doing years of research on your own, and your mountains of data and years of experience tell you that nearly every other scientist in the world is completely wrong about global warming?
If only the rest of the world would listen to this hotbed of climate science we have here in Prince William County…!

Ron and jVA do you want to cover the sun with your finger?. There is no doubt that the continuous repetition of a lie make people believe that it is a true. Now is the case of human-made global warming, politicians and environmentalist want to explode your sentiment of guiltiness. You are right Oscar. Man-made global warming is just a lie, we contribute in part to accelerate this process but, in fact it is a natural process. I haven’t heart from any scientific but politicians that we are the cause of the global warming that is just absurd and ignorance of the facts. Ron ,we can do something to reduce our part, no doubt about it, but stop the global warming impossible. , do not matter haw much taxes or regulations want to put the environmentalists and democrats in congress there is not reverse.

“The vast majority of the science community does not buy the Global warming lie.“
What in the world are you even talking about? I’m not a global warming expert, but I’ve read enough to know that this is a total crock. I can’t believe that you write such a ludicrously untrue statement. Even George Bush has acknowledged global warming.
In case you need it in black and white, here you go:
“These basic conclusions have been endorsed by at least thirty scientific societies and academies of science,[4] including ALL OF THE NATIONAL ACADEMIES OF SCIENCE OF THE MAJOR INDUSTRIALIZED COUNTRIES. While individual scientists have voiced disagreement with some findings of the IPCC, the overwhelming majority of scientists working on climate change agree with the IPCC’s main conclusions.“
I guess aside from the national academies of science of all the major industrialized countries, a “majority of the science community” disputes global warming. (Must be referring to the science department at Falwell university or something.)
I’m not going to try to convince this wingnut of anything. I just don’t understand why some conservatives are so crazily adamant against the idea that global warming might be a problem. Is it because Al Gore made a movie about it? Do you work for the oil lobby or something? Is your last name Inhofe??? I just don’t get it. Why is this a partisan issue at all?
If scientists are right about global warming, it sucks for all of us.

Jva,“vast majority” is an incorrect statement.
Ron, I had a typo earlier. the past 100 years has been the wettest time during the past 1000 yrs in the western US so what now seems like drought conditions is actually more the norm. Al Gore immediately went public after the cyclone in Burma blaming global warming. here is an article that disagrees.

The vast majority of the science community does not buy the Global warming lie. Only the few that the media bother to report on, they just ignore the thousands that don’t agree that global warming is a problem. The reality is increased solar activity has been the reason for the warmer temperatures. Now that the solar activity is on the decline so will the temperatures.

Oscar, it really doesn’t matter if global warming is a lie or not. Why?
1. We all know that we are running out of fossil fuels and that they pollute. So whether or not global warming is “real,“ we still need to take care of our fuel and pollution problems!
2. Pollution contributes to respiratory disease and cancers adding up to billions of dollars in healthcare costs per year. That in itself should be incentive to clean up our planet.
3. Waste disposal and filtration costs continue to challenge us logistically and financially. If we don’t find a way to reduce pollutants and/or convert waste into something useful, we will be on our way to “Soylent Green” land!
Don’t let the argument of global warming interfere with the more common and accepted problems we have had for years. We MUST find alternative, cleaner fuels, clean up our air, water and land, and preserve our planet before we poison ourselves. If we don’t do these things, it really doesn’t matter whether we burn up or suffocate. The end result will be the same.

Oh good! I’m so glad we can ignore the vast majority of the science community. Oscar from Woodbridge tells us they’re wrong.

Ron, that is a skewed statement. Half the scientists do not buy into Al Gore’s vision and debate it on a studied and scientific level. the article is correct. The earth is warming some and has been since the last ice age. Cows do more damage than mankind. That is a well known fact that Al Gore never discusses. Lake Meade is 100 ft low right now. This is not global warming. The past 100 yrs in the western US has been the wettest 100 yrs in the past 100 yrs so what we now consider to be a drought is actually closer to normal. Al Gore would like you to beleive that as well as Hurricanes are caused by His veiw of global warming. The weather changes over time. Egypt was once a plush green place. Did man made global warming turn it into a desert ?

The nice thing bout opinions - they don’t need to be grounded in reality.
No legitimate Climatologist, or any scientist in any other related discipline anywhere in the world, questions whether the earth’s climate is warming or that man-made activities are the root cause. A world-wide warming trend induced by man-made causes are a given, accepted fact.
Their only questions are “How Fast?“ and “Can we reverse the warming trend?“
