When I read Mr. Bradish’s April 29 letter, I was surprised that he had used another person’s quotation. Namely “What are we going to do about the foreigners trespassing in our country.” I believe that statement came from Geronimo or Sitting Bull; maybe Powatan.
Someone please tell me in what year the Mexican government came to Virginia and forced DMV to give exams in English and Spanish. Likewise forms for hospitals, schools, social services, etc, that
Virginia was forced to print in two languages. As for immigrants taking jobs; the truth is that big business sent the good jobs overseas years ago.
My sneakers are made in Vietnam, boxers in Dominican Republic, shorts in India, t-shirt in Honduras; etc. Many textile factories sit idle in the South and people are having to take jobs at less pay. On a
recent trip to the drug store to pick up some Dr. Scholls foot pads and a small roll of 3M Scotch tape, I found that both are now made in China.
If Mr. Stewart had come around with his proposal 20 years ago, it would have made more sense.Oh! I forgot, Mr. Stewart has only been around six or seven years.
Mr. Stewart wants to arouse the populace to advance his own political goals.
If George W. Bush worried more about the Mexican border , and less about the Iranian border, a lot of the problems would have been avoided.

Phdee employers who exploit these illegal workers for normally slave wages should be run out of business permanently, fined, and jailed. So Phdee what is your solution for the problem? We have had porous borders for decades now, all the Presidents since the 60’s are responsible for the immigration mess.

Can you show us where your research revealed the quotations of Geronimo or Sitting Bull and Powatan. The fact of the matter is that until after America was explored by the Europeans it wasn’t a country but just another continent it held no boundries and no common law. The natives took what they wanted by either trading or fighting for it and the Europeans came and took what they wanted the same way. It was a different time in history and is in no logical way, except to the liberals, comparable to the crashing of the legal borders of the United States of America by citizens of other countries. There are legal borders now and laws to govern the citizens thereof. There are freedoms that thousands have died to protect and paid for not only in blood but in the taxes paid from the salaries earned performing legal jobs. Everyone has the right to pursue their dreams so long as they don’t break the laws and infringe on the rights of others. The illegal alien not only breaks our laws but they infringe on my rights. I’m wrongly taxed to support the children of the illegal, to pay for the medical care of the illegal and I suffer from the overcrowding of the schools, hospital emergency rooms, neighborhoods and the loss of property value due to the the deteriation of homes because of the cockroach mentality of many of the current wave of Illegal Aliens. We need to repeal the law that states a child born in the United States of Illegal Aliens is automatically made a citizen. The same goes for Cuban refugees making it to shore. The time is past for the government to act. It’s time to replace the entire Senate and Congress with real working Americans and rid ourselves of the elitist better than everybody politicians that steel us blind and give us nothing in return. And don’t blame it all on the president, he can pass no laws and raise no taxes without the consent of the congress and senate.

Mr. Tyler, President Bush and Clinton fail to protect our borders; after President Reagan approves the last amnesty, none of the following administrations took care of the southern border. Will “President Obama” do it? Answer NO.
I have to assume that you ignore that only legal residents can request ID or DL in the State of Virginia, DMV costumers who cannot speak English can do test in Spanish, thanks to the democrat legislators, they can enjoy that convenience, not the Mexican government.
Mr Stewart is doing what he suppose to do, even some Principi supporters wants him out.
We are living in a globalize world and we are suffering the consequences but create barriers or rise taxes in a mode of protectionism will be worst, for the low-income families Wal-Mart costumers. We can’t be an industrialized country any more; we have environmental restrictions and a highly paid labor, we can’t compete in prices, now our economy must be oriented to provide all kind of services to the different markets worldwide, but the problem is that we are not ready yet.

If George Bush had worried, at all, about the Iranian border,(and the Syrian border)
the insurgents & al-qaeda-in-Iraq would have run out of ammo long ago.
I see that US law firms are now out-sourcing legal research to India. How long will it be before our national security is outsourced? Oops, forgot, it already is. But, we can trust the European Union, right?

Welcome to the world of free trade. Capitalism exploikts workers, and the businesses go where the labor is cheapest. The price of the goods unfortunately rarely goes down.

So it is a good thing for the laws to be enforced? Chris Cummings
