Hey, John McCain, is your choice of Sarah Palin, from Wasilla, Alaska, your idea of a 72nd birthday joke? If so, we don’t find it very funny. You were critical of Obama’s experience, remember? As you
should know, a vice president is a very important person, who must be ready at a moment’s notice to take over as president if the need ever arises. Two months after Ronald Reagan was inaugurated, he
was shot by a kook in downtown Washington, D.C.; we subsequently learned that if the bullet had been lodged 2-3 inches closer to his heart, he probably would have died instantly. A vice president is a
critical choice as LBJ showed when JFK was assassinated. The government proceeded because he was equipped to assume the reins of power.
McCain makes it sound that Palin, with all of 18 months experience as governor of Alaska, will ride into our nation’s Capitol on an elk, toting an assault rifle, eating a mooseburger and tell official
Washington how things need to change. Has she ever been to D.C.? As a member of Congress for over 30 years, you should know better, Senator McCain! National politics is serious stuff. It can’t be left
to a novice, no matter how well-intentioned.
We don’t know much about Sarah Palin and neither does John McCain, having met her only once at his wife’s ranch in Arizona for about an hour. Why should we trust his judgment that she is qualified to
be a heartbeat away from the presidency, and a heartbeat that is 72 years old and has already had three major cancer operations? It’s asking too much of the American people.
One thing we do know, however, is that despite the fact that she has been governor for only 18 months, she knows how to become the target of an abuse of power investigation, launched by the Alaska
Republican legislature which, if the charges are true, could lead to her impeachment. She certainly didn’t waste any time getting embroiled in scandal. That much we DO know.
If Sarah Palin shows John McCain’s “experienced judgment,” it is a judgment we can do without.

Chris, go easy on the torture comments as both Bush and - no shock - his sidekick McCain support torture of political opponents.
And taxes - have you checked your PWC tax bill over the last 5 years? Are you paying more taxes today than you did 5 years ago? Did your home value go down and yet your real estate taxes remain the same or even increase? Oh drat that Corey Stewart.
And I agree Republicans support technical advancements. Remember - Bush wanted to send a man to Mars! Ah, the dreams you can dream with a Clinton budget surplus. With the Bush mess, President Obama will be lucky to afford a Mars bar.

Do we need further evidence of Ron Charest’s support of Communist China then him saying his wife used to receive healthcare in China and applauding it. This same country also kills girl babies daily and tortures and kills political opponents daily. Go ahead and act like that doesn’t happen. Fine example of the “blinder mentality” once again. Connolly is a joke, have you seen how much they have increased taxes in Fairfax Co. while he was in office. Have you seen the overcrowding of schools and the abuses of Federal and state benefits by illegals as well. Now go ahead and check the soaring crime statistics and try to blame it on PWC. So if you are Republican you hate science and technology now? Going way off topic now. LOL. We hate science and technology yet our actions against embryonic stemcell research have helped lead to 4 or 5 other ways to make them other than killing life. LOL Chris Cummings

Uh, Pwanon,
Your question:
“Please show me one example of a nation with national health care that has more than 300 million people in it”
How about China? Last time I checked, they have a population of 1.2 Billion people, 4 times out country.
I know first hand about their nationalized emergency health care, and from my wife’s description of treatment she used to receive in China compared to what she gets here. If you want some hard numbers - China’s infant mortality rate is lower than ours.
In fact, about 25 countries have a lower infant mortality rate that ours and all of those countries have some level of national health care. For someone such as you, who so vigorously defends the lives of unborn children, knowing that a national health care plan results in more babies surviving childbirth should make supporting a national health care plan a no-brainer.
Oh, wait…
Signed,
Ron “The Most Liberal of all Democrats” Charest

“The Democrat-led US Congress, checking in at a whopping 18% approval (22% if you’re generous). So libs may want to leave the polls be for a while. “
Ignorant simplification of that approval rating. Congress’ rating is not low because people are mad at the Democrats. Congress’ rating is low because there is gridlock, partisanship, no compromise from either side and nothing is getting done. Sorry pwanon, that is not a Democrat issue. This is an issue with all of congress.
Feel free to hold on to your silly belief for a few weeks if it makes you feel better though. Let me know how that works out for you. There’s a reason Democrats are widely expected to pick up seats in both the House and Senate and November.
Anybody seen the Fimian/Conn0lly signs up and down 234 lately? I thought it was interesting that Fimian’s reads:
FIMIAN FOR CONGRESS
Connolly’s read:
CONNOLLY *DEMOCRAT* FOR CONGRESS
Being a Republican is apparantly as bad as being a member of NAMBLA this year. hah!

“Saying 95% is fact is still a lie.“
Uh no its not. 95% is a fact. I don’t know why you’re arguing this number. Its not that hard to prove it:
**According to Congressional Quarterly’s Voting Studies, in 2007 McCain voted in line with the president’s position 95 percent of the time**
I suppose Congressional Quarterly is just full of lies.
“By the way Carter left office with about 29% approval, some even say it was probably closer to the mid 20’s “
Uh no. I’m not just making numbers up. Carter’s approval rating when he left office was 34%. Here’s the link:

I don’t see why you’re disputing things that people like me can easily look up.

I would hope that we all strive to be colorblind, as for documented that would only be following the law like a good Christian. Then again i don’t follow Mrs. Theresa or Pope whats his name, Benedict or something. Out of respect for my Catholic and Christian friends of course. If Democrats believe change is bringing the lowest approved Congress ever then i would rather have the status quo. LOL Chris Cummings

Saying 95% is fact is still a lie. By the way Carter left office with about 29% approval, some even say it was probably closer to the mid 20’s he was widely hated. Double digit interest rates, double digit inflation, stagflation, near double digit unemployment, gas prices even rose in his 1 term 300%. People’s wages were much less than they are now. If you can’t make a decent living making over 100k a year with just 2 or 3 kids then God help us all. I have never made more than 50k in my life and that was plenty for me and i have 2 kids and i am married. Greed kills i say. An extra $3000 a year how will that really benefit they will probably blow it on lottery tickets, alcohol, or the latest electronic toy. I am going to assume that those same 30% or so will still approve of him after Nov 4. Mr. Charist for every American medical horror story you can show i can show 2 in any nationalized health plan and subpar care to boot. Will he deliver on his tax cuts and or will he hike the tax rate in order to pay for it or take out another loan with the Chinese? Cutting taxes is great i am all for that part. Will it really make a difference especially since we have had 3 tax cuts already in 8 years. It would seem wiser to cut spending since we are still paying for ridiculous programs full of holes. We need to have 100% verification of the identity of individuals receiving benefits from the Federal Govt. especially individuals who are not entitled to it. If you know what i mean Ronnie. Ray being the big business owner that hires illegals, i know what your going to say the government turned a blind eye to that. LOL. With as much money you are siphoning away from legal immigrants you should be only entitled to a prison sentence and seizure of your business. I would take Nixon or Bush over Carter any day. Ray i have no problems giving Democrats a chance, i am voting for Mark Warner after all, silly. Certainly voting against Connolly and not for the top of the ticket, although i do respect Palin’s conservative beliefs, her inexperience and Obama’s inexperience are what scare me about this Presidential race. As for McCain he is just a RINO. Don’t worry Ray that fence will be built or else whoever the next President will pay the price for not finishing it. It has just run into some minor funding issues, big deal. The oil revenue will come it is just taking a little longer than expected. More than likely it will cover the cost of the war and then some. They do owe us that at least, at least the surge worked even by Obama’s own admission after the fact. LOL Chris Cummings

“I will never, for the life of me, understand how anyone can attempt to defend the practice of abortion at all.“
let me get this straight, pwanon wants to impose his pro-life views on others by changing the law, but is offended that someone may want to impose their pro-adoption views on him.
i don’t quite get the logic of his arguement.
