Sandi Teets

Mr. Powell, my Letter to the Editor was meant to be sarcastic (Webster’s Online Dictionary defines that as meaning to make fun of something or somebody.). Like ha ha, that is funny. If you took that
seriously, then I have to question your sense of humor. To answer your question, I do not have reddish brown hair nor does my name mean that. I have strawberry blonde hair. But I will let you in on a
little secret and tell you what my name means. Sandi (Greek, defender of others), Michelle (Hebrew, who is like God) and Teets (German, Americanized from Dietz meaning power of people). You should
take a look on Ancestry.com and see what your name means. I would do it for you, but I don’t have the time.

Oh boy! The wisdom of Cobra returns. What a treat.
Please share some of the “hate speech” from moveon.org, won’t you? Since its apparantly overflowing with venom, shouldn’t be hard to find some.
I’m sure you’ve never looked at moveon in your life, but hey! Rush and O’Reilly repeat every day that its bad, so it must be, right?
Some “hate speech” on the front of moveon.org today:
- Health care for America Now!
- Be a Part of the People Powered Revolution
- Help the Victims in Burma
- Virtual Town Halls on Iraq and Climate Change
Yep, you really have your finger on the pulse of the hateful left, Cobra.

The main stream press did nothing to help the cause in having Mr. Bush impeached over the war crimes and crimes against humanity he committed and now they’re helping to elect Obama? This is a bigger position flip-flop than John Kerry. cobra, I don’t think either side holds a monopoly on hateful speech or kook websites. Have you ever been to BVBL’s site? Talk about hateful untrue trash ..... And good to know we still have Fox’s “fair and balanced” news reporting for “accurate information” LOL. But, we should all be thankful we live in America and can discuss this in an open forum without fear of illegal government wiretaps. Oh, wait, no we can’t. Bush is watching.

Isn’t humor supposed to be funny?

Oh you little sensitive Libs. The most hateful speech comes from the left. Just take a look at all the kook websites run by far left libs. Start with moveon.org. Quit defending the empty suite candidate Obama. If he can’t take the heat then he should get out of the kitchen. Sticks and Stones......The American People know exactly nothing about this guy so no question is out of bounds. The main stream press is absolutely committed to getting this guy elected. They have not asked him any real hard questions. And with the death of Tim Russert, do you think any of those spineless news people from CNN or MSNBC are going to ask those questions? The answer is hell no.

Does anybody actually believe this explanation? I’ve read letters in the Potomac News before from people trying to be funny and/or sarcastic. The Obama name letter just wasn’t one of them.

I still miss the part about sarcastic. Are you being sarcastic about the name “Barack Hussein Obama II?” On the meaning? The fact that he has a “Muslim-sounding” name? That you think it’s funny, and not as good a name as “John Sidney McCain?”
Oh, and please note Sen. Obama is a “II” and not a “jr” as you claimed in your earlier letter (his father was “Sr.")
I could be sarcastic about your lack of fact-checking before writing, but why bother? If you read my on-line posts against your earlier letter, you’ll see that I correctly guessed you to have blonde hair.

I guess if telling lies about someone is called a sense of humor then Sandi’s letter might have been funny - ha ha. Perhaps our Greek defender of others, who, God-like filled with power of people should take writing lessons before attempting to compose another humorous letter. Rather than defending her letter, Ms. Teets should apologize to Senator Obama for her slander.

So Ms. Teets, you’re an Obama supporter, then, and your previous letter was an attempt to mock those who would use his name and/or father’s religion as scare tactics? Interesting spin, but I’m not buying it.
Do you support McCain, or Obama? If your choice is McCain (as I suspect it is), then why did you feel a need to rise to Obama’s defense with your “sarcastic” letter to the editor?
I think your letter was genuine, and you’re backpedalling now after you saw the negative comments it generated here.
