Congratulations go to Judge LeRoy F. Millette Jr., on his recent appointment to the Virginia Supreme Court.
Millette’s pick by Governor Timothy Kaine was as excellent a choice as one could possibly make.
Residents of Prince William County will remember Millette for his being a stellar jurist at the sniper trial of John Muhammad. However many students in Prince William County will remember him for his
equally stellar job as an Associate Professor at Northern Virginia Community College, Woodbridge Campus.
I speak from experience. I was a student in Judge Millette’s class for two semesters as he taught Criminal Law one and two. He was extremely dedicated to us, hardworking, encouraging, challenging and
genuine.
He encouraged us to visit the courthouse and attend a trial to fully understand what he was teaching us.
I once took him up on his offer and sat in on one of his cases.
During a break, he took the time out to take me back into the Judges Chambers to show me what goes on behind the scenes of the courtroom.
I completely appreciated this mini field trip. I’ve long left NOVA and earned my Bachelors Degree, but I will never, ever forget Judge Millette and his dedication to his students.
Now, the rest of Virginia gets to profit from his knowledge, fairness and complete dedication.

I completely agree. Judge Millette is a top-notch judge. I’ve seen him in operation on more than one occasion.
