Del. Robert “Bob” Marshall, R-Prince William is picking up steam in his challenge to former Governor Jim Gilmore to become the Republican nominee for U.S. Senate.
The conservative base is learning that Gilmore supports abortion during the first eight weeks of pregnancy and he is compensated financially by serving on the board of directors of Barr Labs which produces the abortifacient “morning after” pill.
In contrast, Marshall is 100 percent committed to protecting all unborn life, inclusive of the first eight weeks when over half of all abortions occur.
Instead of local primaries, the nomination voting process will take place at the Virginia Republican Convention in Richmond on May 31.
Deadlines for registering for the convention are soon, vary by area and can be found at http://www.bobmarshall2008.com. Those of us who cringe when pro-life principles are compromised realize how important it is to sacrifice the time to attend this convention in order to vote for Marshall.
His 16 years of legislative experience and genuine pro-life position will make him the best candidate for U.S. Senate.
A pro-life surge could make a huge difference in this race resulting in a victory for the culture of life.

Phdee nobody was forcing my morals or opinion on anyone else. However murder is murder. Sorry i don’t have bigoted morals and values like yourself i believe in the sanctity of life. Hopefully you will get over your intolerance someday and join the human race. Ray more people have been killed by abortions then The US/Iraq war or for that matter you can throw in all the American wars combined vs. the millions killed by Abortions in the US. We cannot even begin to fathom the amounts of abortions worldwide. Chris Cummings.

ZCX. My oh my. As a an anti-immigrant kook, who sputters the “legal is legal” stance, you fail to understand thsat ‘ABORTION IS LEGAL”!!!!!!! Moreover, abortion is the sole decision of the individual getting it, whether your agree with the act or not. Why do you think you or bobby G. Marshall, religious organizations, or anyone else has an obligation to oppose a legal act, bomb abortion clinics, etc etc. People should mind their own business. Why should you think you have the right to impose your bigoted morals and values on someone else? YOU DON"T!!! marshall is a first class embarrassment to PWC and Va. - a person who is always meddling in other folks business.

If you try Bush for war crimes then you might as well try all Presidents for war crimes including Clinton’s lack of action in Rwanda and the farce called Bosnia/Serbia of which Kosovo is truly part of Serbia or his lack of decisive action against Bin Laden in the 90’s. They will fight again in Serbia it is far from over. Chris Cummings. Your right murder is murder, so shouldn’t abortion doctors be tried too?

It is not surprising a social conservative such as Bob Marshall would want to live in a Leave It To Beaver world. The problem is that after fighting FOR the life of an unborn, Bob and others ignore the life of the newborn, FIGHTING the proposals advanced by bleeding-heart liberals for the healthcare, safety and education of that growing child. Perhaps Senator Bob will proposal a bill that ensures the life he saves is actually saved from living a life outside of his Beaver Land.

While Bob is certainly a better choice for the Republican nomination that the failed former governor Jim “we still have a car tax” Gilmore, my vote will be cast for Mark Warner. Both Marshall and Gilmore are out of step with the issues that confront mainstream Virginians while Warner has a record of getting things done. Our country would be in a better position had Warner continued his bid for president.

They should nominate Gilmore to pave the way for Marshall next election. If anything Marshall is true to his beliefs and Gilmore isn’t.

Great news! As long as Republicans remain one issue ponies, they’ll continue to nominate extreme candidates like Bob Marshall who have no chance of beating a moderate, reasonable, and well respected candidate like Mark Warner. Please, please, please nominate Bob Marshall for Senate also-ran.
