McCain’s experience is not what we want

The Republican presidential nominee, John “Older than the Golden Gate Bridge” McCain, has a lot of government experience.

As of May 21, Senator McCain had 115 lobbyists helping his presidential campaign by either working or raising money for him. McCain’s chief political advisor Charlie Black built his career by
representing the world’s most savage and genocidal dictators, along with “good neighbor” corporations that include Blackwater and Phillip Morris.

McCain’s economics advisor, former Sen. Phil Gramm, was advising McCain on his subprime mortgage policy while Gramm was also a registered lobbyist for the Swiss bank UBS. UBS has serious
financial problems from the subprime mortgage crisis and is currently under federal investigation for marketing tax-evasion schemes to wealthy U.S. clients.

McCain survived the Keating Five scandal of the 1980s, made campaign finance reform one of his signature concerns, and during his primary campaign violated the finance laws he helped write.

McCain supported President Bush’s veto of a bill that would have prohibited waterboarding.  He supports President Bush’s program of warrantless wiretapping, and supports retroactive immunity for
telecommunication companies involved in violating federal wiretapping laws.

McCain has voted many times in opposing abortion and other reproductive rights. Planned Parenthood gives him a zero rating on women’s health issues, the lowest possible senate rating. The NARAL
president, Nancy Keenan, has been quoted as stating, “Voters need to know that John McCain is not only against abortion, he is against birth control.”

As a veteran and former POW, McCain has voted only 30 percent of the time in support of veterans funding bills, according to the nonpartisan “Disabled Americans for America.” McCain, along with
President Bush, actively opposes the current bi-partisan Webb/Hagel veteran’s bill which would provide full tuition and housing costs at a four-year public university for veterans who have served at least
three years of active duty.

Although he opposes increasing veteran’s benefits, McCain does support a permanent troop presence in Iraq and new military action against Iran.

Is this the experience we want in a president? I don’t think so.

BTW, FoxNews has been cited to have a more neutral view than CNN or as I call it the “Clinton News Network”  Even MSNBC came out publically and stated that they will endorse the Democratic nominee, no matter who it is.  You don’t think that would influence their “reporting” of the news?

Hey jVA, your spouting typical BS from a slanted view.  McCain wouldn’t support those “veterans funding bills” because of the pork attached to them.  He at least has somewhat of a conscience when it comes to how our tax money is spent.  He proposes to cut pork from being attached to bills for bartering their passing.  I completely support that view.  Let’s tell the whole story next time, thanks.

Same old wind bag liberal puke from this guy Ron Charest. This guy sits home in his bath robe daily posting the most rediculous articles. Just makes statements with absolutely no facts to back them up.

Really?  I see that Ron wrote:

“As a veteran and former POW, McCain has voted only 30 percent of the time in support of veterans funding bills, according to the nonpartisan “Disabled Americans for America.” “

That sounds like a source to me.

Just because you don’t like the facts that Ron presented doesn’t mean they’re not facts.

Of course, this is why Republicans invented Fox News.  So they can hear the news they want to hear, the way they want to hear it.  Facts are for pansies.

Willow703,

It’s your right, in fact your civic duty, to vote for the person you believe is best qualified to be President come November.  I’m doing my part, as a civic-minded citizen, to be sure people have the facts needed to make an informed choice.

MikeG:

References follow.  Max length of a permitted letter does not allow space for me to include references when I’ve used multiple ones as in this letter.

The references below were submitted along with my letter to the editor for the editor’s use in verifying my claims (which they do).  In other words, I don’t make stuff up the way so many Conservative columnists do.

Ron,
As opposed to a 47-year old, still wet-behind-the-ears Obama?
As opposed to an Obama will talk, without pre-conditions, to those to whom the only thing he has to offer is acceptance of enslavement to their hate-filled, murderous, misogynistic religion?
As opposed to an Obama who refuses to call the “African American experience” of Jeremiah Wright, Spike Lee and others, what it truly is, merely another lie-filled, form of bigotry?
As opposed to an Obama who says if McCain accepts federal campaign funding, he, Obama, will do the same, then changes his mind when he realizes how money the dictators of socialism, such as George Soros, have to offer?
As opposed to an Obama who refuses to condemn, or reject the support of, democracy-hating groups & websites such as moveon.org, The dailyKos & the Huffington Post
As opposed to an Obama who says he supports our troops, but fails to condemn those who are trying to destroy those same military forces that defend our nation by blocking recruitment & voluntary training in high schools & colleges?
As opposed to an Obama who refuses to condemn George Bush, who is willing to go to Beijing and kiss the behind of the murderous dictator Hu Jintao?
As opposed to an Obama who likewise refuses to condemn egoistic “athletes” willing to go to Beijing and kiss the behind of Hu Jintao for the sake of their egos & a chance for their “15 minutes of fame”.
As opposed to an Obama who refuses to condemn the enviro-terrorists who support the jihadists by opposing any attempt at energy independence from the countries sponsoring those jihadists?
I’d much rather have a president who may die in office than a president, who may through naivety, assist in the murder of my country.

Of all the nonsense you’ve posted here, Mr. Charest, this is about the most egregious piece of slash and burn bull I’ve ever read.  Not once did you cite a source; not once did you admit that this is just your opinion, and nothing else.  You have no credibility, whatsoever.

If you’re going to spout such serious charges against a good man like McCain, you’d better quote sources, chapter and verse, or just admit that you’re blowing smoke, as usual.
