Outcry displays a double standard

I just finished reading Edwin Powell’s article, “Obama Character Assassination,” about Vic Poillucci attacking Barack Obama. I find it ironic that not too long ago, there was an article published about
John McCain that spouted verbatim stories found on various blogs and left wings Web sites. Where was the outcry then? There was none, because it was against McCain and not Obama, and in my
mind Obama supporters lose credibility each time they exercise a double standard. All sources should be checked and cited.
By the way, using http://www.truthfightsback.com as an independent source of information to verify a liberal attack is like using Ann Coulter as the source to deny a conservative accusation. According to the
Huffington Post, http://www.huffingtonpost.com, truthfightsback.com was launched by John Kerry, with the help of his internet director.
Of course, since the aforementioned was written in the Huffington Post, which was founded by liberal Arianna Huffington, it must be true.

<Then Bush took his eye off the target and now pretends Bin Ladin is not even a target>.
Mc Cain and Obama want Osama too , but they have different ways.
McCain will follow Osama to the gates of hell.
Obama is going find Osama, bombing Pakistan.

Ron, remember when it was “Wanted: Dead or Alive”. Then Bush took his eye off the target and now pretends Bin Ladin is not even a target.
This is how you run a successful administration. You keep changing the goals until the goals match whatever it is you achieved. LOL
When your own party doesn’t want you around, you know it’s time to turn out the lights and hand over the keys.

Folks,
Just where is Bin Laden now? President G.W. Bush has had all of seven years to find the mastermind of 9/11. We own Afghanistan, own Iraq, is BFF with Pakistan, and should have the full and undivided resources of the entire US government thrown behind searching for this terrorist.
So where is Bin Laden? Oh, that’s right, about three years ago G.W. Bush admitted that Bin Laden wasn’t a priority - in fact he hardly ever even thought about Bin Laden.
So if your Great President Bush doesn’t think Bin Laden is worth looking for, after Bin Laden masterminded the destruction of the Twin Towers and Pentagon, why are you’all so hung up on what President Clinton did or didn’t do four years before anyone knew Bin Laden was a serious threat?
As I said, facts never make Republicans look good.

“But liberals don’t really like to see America succeed at anything. So ignoring those “facts” isn’t much of a surprise. “
Oh yeah! You’re sooooooo right pwanon.
Its hard to believe that McCain isn’t running on the Iraq war. Its been such a huge success. And what’s up with his treatment of President Bush? No prime time address at the RNC for the mastermind behind this strategic brilliance? McCain couldn’t even bring himself to utter the President’s NAME during his speech.
Of course, its all the fault of we liberals. boo hoo.

Ron
What can we spec? It is the left double standard.
<Facts never make Republicans look good>
Obama had a bitter drink to swallow, he accept a fact ,”the surge is working more than he expect”. Obama oppose the surge; your statement perfectly fit to your experienced candidate Obama. He looks so naïf. McCain disagree whit Bush and demand more troops in Iraq to reduce the violence , that is why McCain have an advantage of 35 point when it refers to National Security.

“Facts never make Republicans look good.“
Right, Ron. Let’s look at some facts. The Sudan offered Osama Bin Laden up to Bill Clinton on a silver platter. He said no because he didn’t want to deal with how to find a court to try him, even though we knew he was heavily involved in sponsoring terrorist attacks against US interests around the world. Kind of an ugly “fact” there, wouldn’t you say?
How about the fact that a genocidal, murderous tyrant named Saddam Hussein is dead? How about the fact that Iraq has had its first democratic elections in thirty years, or that sectarian violence is at its lowest in three decades? I’d say those are facts that make Republicans look good.
But liberals don’t really like to see America succeed at anything. So ignoring those “facts” isn’t much of a surprise.

This is a big problem with our political debates these days. Why are we so hung up on the source of a fact? The issue is whether a fact is actually a FACT.
I don’t care if a story comes from Ann Coulter or it comes from Arianna Huffington. A story is either factually true or not.

Mr. Meckley,
I don’t know which article about Senator McCain you’re referencing, but I’d like to think it was mine. If so; my article was based on facts that could be verified through sources such as the Disable Veterans of America, NARAL, publicity available congressional voting records, and open news sources from multiple outlets.
I can understand why any Republican would be suspicious of verifiable facts. Facts never make Republicans look good.

The real question we should be asking here is a “what if”. “What if” the plane carrying John McCain and Barack Obama to a joint debate appearance went down. Which of the two vice presidential candidates would be able to step up and assume the leadership role of their party? Senator Joe Biden, himself a former presidential candidate or Governor Sarah Palin, with 18 months of experience? Me? I need more than a pitbull with lipstick.

I do not see the double standard. There was a response to the attack on Sen. Obama because Mr. Powell wrote a letter. The Potomac News will print pro-McCain letters too if people send them.
