Interestingly enough, the “nails in Sarah Palin’s coffin were driven there as a result of Charles Gibson and Katie Couric’s interviews. Ms. Palin did very well in her convention acceptance speech and in her
presentations during the debate. It’s just when she is confronted with “gotcha” journalism and editor’s prerogative that she “seems to falter.” Ms Palin may be short in stature, but she is still looking down
at the two interviewers. It should frighten them that she can pull these nails from “her coffin” without the help of others.

Nail in a coffin?  From observation of McCain during the debate, he is physically going down hill.  I’ve always said that he has a foot in the grave.  Perhaps Palin can share her excess nails and the coffin for McCain’s use.  I don’t think he’ll be around another year. Isn’t that REALLY scary who would be next in line for the Presidency should McCain win?

Yes it is certainly damningly liberal to ask a VP candidate what newspapers she reads.  What her foreign policy experience is.  etc;

Having attended high school with Katie Couric, she is certainly a nice person but no Diane Sawyer when it comes to interviewing.  She has become more and more liberal as she has gotten older.  Ms.Couric has a difficult time remaining objective and impartial in her interviewing.

I guess one difference is Joey Hair Plugs has been vetted in his runs for president and is a known, open book for the whole country by now.

Miss America, on the other hand, is unknown outside of Walla Walla Alaska. The country wants to know who this person is. Apparently, she is not much as the McCain campaign insists on keeping her in the dark like a mushroom, only bringing her out to repeat a few bumper stickers and then back to darkness.

“It’s not a question of more vs. less serious.  It’s a question of why Couric is adversarial in one instance...and passive in the other. “

Maybe Couric didn’t immediately identify the gaffe when Biden said FDR spoke on TV?

Not sure I would have picked that up right away if somebody had not pointed it out to me.

So you basically don’t like that when Palin gave answers that didn’t make sense (i.e. her answer about Russia), Couric followed up?

Palin has a great habit of answering the question she wants to answer.  She even bragged about that at the debate.  All Katie Couric did was demand that she answer the question posed, and followed up when her answer didn’t make any sense.

As far as the Biden thing, feel free to make a big deal out of it.  What did he say?  That FDR addressed the nation on TV?  And there were no tv’s then?

Is that really more serious than or even equal to claiming you have foreign policy experience because Putin regularly flies into Alaskan airspace?

Your “snark” doesn’t bother me.

Her bias is apparent in her response to Palin’s answers, nearly all of which she deemed unsatisfactory in one regard or another.  Fine...be an adversarial journalist.

But Joey Botox makes two HUGE blunder in the course of two sentences, and Couric’s response is nothing.  Not even a simple “so when was the TV invented, Senator?”

So either Katie, like Joey, is too dumb to know...or she’s partial...take your pick.

“Yes...while Gov. Palin was being questioned on everything under the sun by Katie Couric”

I’m curious to know, pwanon.  What is an example of a rough question that Couric gave to Palin?

Was it when she asked Palin what she reads?

Was it when she asked her about her foreign policy experience?

Seriously, I’ll set my snark aside for a few minutes.  Can you give an example of an unfair question from Couric to Palin?

Yes...while Gov. Palin was being questioned on everything under the sun by Katie Couric, Joey Hair Plugs got the rougher treatment.

When Couric asked him about Pres. Bush’s leadership in this crisis, he referenced FDR during the market crash of 1929, and that he demonstrated leadership by going on TV and explaining the problem to the people.  Couric had no problem with this answer.

Apparently neither of them were aware that FDR wasn’t the President at the time of the market crash...or that there were no TV’s in 1929.

Real hard-hitting, combative interview there.
