I have read some ridiculous letters in your newspaper lately regarding Barrack Obama. But a recent letter from A. Vic Poillucci just might take the cake.
Mr. Poillucci wrote in because he is upset about a quote from Senator Obama regarding our national anthem.
The problem is that Senator Obama never actually said the words Mr. Poillucci quoted. The “quote” was a piece of satire written by a syndicated columnist named John Semmens and posted on a Web
site called The Arizona Conservative.
I assume Mr. Poillucci probably received the quote forwarded to him in an email and like many other Americans just didn’t bother to check his facts. Who can blame him really?
Forwarded mass e-mails are always such reliable sources of information.
Unfortunately, thanks to Mr. Poillucci and your newspaper, many people in Prince William County will read this incredibly ignorant letter to the editor and won’t bother to check their facts either.
They will believe that regarding the national anthem, Barrack Obama actually said, “It should be swapped for something less parochial and less bellicose. I like the song ‘I’d Like to Teach the World to
Sing.’ If that were our anthem, then I might salute it.”
So, I am really writing in to commend both your newspaper and A. Vic Poillucci for helping to spread a smear and a complete lie. You have just put the Potomac News on par with the e-mail I received
today from a Nigerian prince who wants to send me $20,000. Spam.

Clinton didn’t inhale? What kind of idiot doesn’t inhale when they smoke? The surge did work or is less violence not enough for you and or you don’t want more troops headed to Afghanistan? Bush’s second term was no worse than Carter’s only term. LOL Chris Cummings

Imagine if we had done all these things about alternative energy decades ago when we first realized it was a problem. Will either party do anything about it? Doubtfull, Will both parties raise taxes? Probably. Will both parties try amnesty again? Probably. How you can believe either party on most issues is beyond me since they barely tolerate legal citizens. Then again with partisan politics anything is possible. The more these candidates have to say, the more i am getting turned off by both of them. At least Kerry made it easy to vote against him, he is still a schmuck. LOL Chris Cummings

“Congress is the one that voted on the bailout.“
The bailout is not the freaking problem. Congress has basically no choice but to bail out Fannie and Freddie.
The PROBLEM is that lack of regulation and oversight that led to this crisis to begin with. This is what you get from 8 years of George W. Bush’s “limited government”. Limited = do nothing.
“JVA once again i add he specifically says Spanish, specifically, comprende.“
You’re doing great, Chris! Keep repeating it one hundred times a week between now and November 4th. What you’re implying still won’t be true, but maybe you can get a few ignorant people to believe you.

I’m not exactly jumping on the Obama bandwagon but anyone that feels this country is in better shape than when Mr. Bush took over nearly eight years ago is smoking that which Clinton ‘did not inhale’. The greatness of America is that we can weather a president like George W. Bush and still see light at the end of the eight year tunnel. Is that light more of the McSame? I do not think so!

Congress is the one that voted on the bailout. As you said Congress is controlled by Democrats. Don’t blame me for not voting in 2000. We all make our own choices. Incidentally i would like to see John Kerry’s war wounds, where are his medical records? Has he released them yet??? LOL Chris Cummings

JVA there were WMD’s in Iraq, we gave them to Saddam and his merry band of thieves, lol. Although i do agree there wasn’t much of a connection to 9/11 except for some info meetings. JVA as i have said many times before i don’t vote any particular party, would you like to see my voting record? Calling me GOP is like calling you a LIB. Then again thats the SOP for the LIB crowd. Once again i add i think it is a very good thing to learn another language in school. They didn’t teach other languages until high school when i went through school, i say they should teach them as young as possible. Better for retention and learning. Incidentally, why doesn’t Barack speak a second language??? Even goofy, old, maybe even off his rocker McCain speaks another language. LOL Chris Cummings
