Probable cause or racial profiling?

During and shortly after the November election we were told by police that people would be questioned as to their legal status only if there was “probable cause.”

Well, that was a lie. My hispanic friend called the police when his car was vandalized and was treated like he was the criminal. My friend moved to Alexandria and said if someone was murdered in front of him, he would not call the police. Way to build public trust, Corey.

Mr. Stewart said during the election that “someday” he would like to be governor and then a U.S. senator form Virginia. Now Stewart is talking about running for Lt. Governor. If elected, he would not finish his first elected term as county chair. Stewart has used the county as a stepping stone for his own political ambitions.

The argument that most crimes are done by Hispanics is wrong.

Now the newly trained ICE personnel “have the authority to question anyone believed to be an alien to inquire as to their status.”

I am not ICE trained, but if you put ten Hispanics and ten anglos in a room I can pick out at least eight of the hispanics. To stop the flood of immigrants, the first thing to do is close the Mexican border, not the county line.

People wonder why legal citizens don’t want to go near Northern Woodbridge? Is it because of the crime, the overcrowding, MS-13, illegal immighrants? All of the above i say. Fairfax should just make that part of their county since they cater to them anyway. Will their be justice and fairness is all that i ask? Chris Cummings

Anyone who is not paying taxes and is here illegally is plainly and simply by law a criminal. If i went to Mexico and pulled this same jazz my property would be confiscated and i would be thrown in jail. Homeowners and contractors who pay these people under the table should be thrown in jail as well. Chris Cummings.

Part Two is driving without a license and insurance.  Sort of a Catch 22. If we would DOCUMENT illegal residents, we could provide a legal license and therefore require insurance (daggone, and collect payroll taxes while i think of it).  We would be safer to document, fingerprint and have names and addresses of those living here than keeping a large part of our population in the dark as mushrooms. But, alas, that is common sense - which is lacking in those that compare 1 Billion spent per week in Iraq with costs to PWC by illegals.  Let’s see how many businesses go out of business or lay off employees due to the declining Hispanic population. Oh, and check your house value when you get a chance. Your tax dollars at work here folks.

Once again we have to remind people that everyone pays payroll taxes in some way or another. For a business to pay a worker cash, the owner has to either convert his money to cash (taxes paid) or get cash from the homeowner to pay his crew. To stop tax-free payments Americans must stop paying businesses cash for sweeter deals. All political beliefs go out the door if one can save a dollar or two on their project. Gringo, if you are not part of the solution, you are part of the problem.

Nice guy your friend is.  Anyone that would not come forward if they were witness to a crime is crimal himself. I feel safer in PCW now that your friend has moved.

Probable cause is not a nebulously define entity.  The police may ask you for identity without probable cause, but they will not investigate a crime without it.  As to your friend, I doubt the voracity of the allegorical account.

So let me get this straight.  If you speak with a heavy accent and don’t have a driver’s license, one should automatically assume (we all remember what that means) that the person is illegal.  Hmmm, I guess my mother who does not drive and still has a heavy accent should be careful in PWC.  Never mind that she has been a productive citizen of the US for over 40 years.

Illegal is illegal and everybody pays sales tax. On top of that only half of illegals are paying any kind of payroll tax. At least in Va. that’s how that is working out. Then their are at least 10-20% who are stealing benefits and services through identity theft, false documentation, etc. Then when you factor the driving with no licenses and no insurance that cause accidents and injuries as well as deaths that can be attributed to that, then you can get the true measure of how severe of a tax burden that Virginians and fellow citizens of the USA have to deal with. The costs of the Iraq and Afghanistan wars pale in comparison. Will their be any fairness or justice in this matter or must we endure the sanctuary cities, counties and states. If my Irish ancestors have to be legal why can’t yours be? Come on people wake up. Chris Cummings

@scorpio

I invite you to invite these “peaceful” illegal aliens into your neighborhood with all the trash, overcrowding, strange men learing and making catcalls at women/girls, loud music, etc. that comes with them.  As we can see with the liberal elitists in Montgomery county MD there is much gnashing of teeth and wringing of hands now that the illegals have begun infiltrating their “enlightened” enclaves since PWC started enforcing the law.  Hypocrits.
