Proud but worried in the United States

I’m proud to be an American, but have serious worries about our nation’s future if Hollywood is allowed to continue to shape the minds of our young people.  Parents have neglected their responsibilities
as parents and given up their children to the electronic babysitters (TVs and PCs) in their homes for far to long. We have a young generation that now accepts violence more readily because of what their
young brains were fed. This should not be a surprise!

We are a nation at risk of losing control, because we have lived like drunken sailors, spoiled by the riches in our lives. We should all take a moment to give thanks for what we have and take more control
of our personal lives. I have lived and worked on three continents and know that I am indeed so blessed to have been born an American. I have the feeling that many Americans feel it a sport to “down”
their country without any regard to how good they actually have it in life.  America is a great place to live and work (warts and all) especially compared to so many other nations around the world.

As I deal with terminal cancer, I know am blessed with more love, faith and good will than I dared to have asked for. I know that I am reaping what I have sewn over the years (my good deeds, my attitude
and helpfulness over the years has indeed been recently blooming). My glass is still half full, and I’m trying to not spill a drop as I go on in life.

I hope it doesn’t take a huge national tragedy to galvanize our population into being serious about being American, about participating in their future, about having values that count. We need people to
care about their neighbors and their government. People need to keep a watchful eye on their politicians and lead them (drag them if necessary) to what you want from the government.

I think McCain and the Democrats in the Congress and Senate finally got the message when the ground swell of “grass roots” turned against their “illegal alien rights bill” they were determined to push
through against our will!

If you speak loud enough and gather enough neighbors to join you in voice, the politicians seem to be able to hear. WE the PEOPLE need to find our voices and stop whining. Do something positive. I
wish you all well, and God bless America.

You guys might remember all this “hate” stuff started when Bill Clinton was elected president. You Repubs could not stand the fact a Democrat was in charge and all your anti-choice and firearm goals were put on hold for 8 years. The Repubs spent 50 million tax dollars to define the defination of “IS” and the cost of drycleaning a blue dress. Money that could have been used on road improvements or securing our border with Mexico. I don’t hate Bush - that would give him too much power over my emotions. I just think he is Saddam Hussein in a coward’s suit. Make a list of their personality traits and you’ll see I’m hitting the nail close to the head.

Actually cobra, you may recall in my earlier posts I have mentioned many times I supported Corey for Chairman. Not because I think he brings anything new to the table, but I KNOW Sharon Pandak - a former County Attorney - would be a horrible “anything” in PWC.
Well, that’s not fair. I’m sure if the police K9 kennels needed cleaning, she would do an okay job.

Ray,
You are on the hate band wagon today. Calm down man it’s Friday. I think everyone realizes you hate Bush. At least that’s my take based on the content in dozens of your posts. Libs have undermined this administration from day one. September 11 just gave the Libs a little more ammunition but the hate started in 2000. The left can not accept a fair and open election whether on the local or national level. Yes and we know you hate Corey Stewart also. I enjoy our conversations but please give us something new to contemplate.

He is talking about unite and you bring your garbage again. Look at yourself , look at the democrats what are they doing ,they divide our country, divide it racially , Hispanic, Black Americans, Haward Dean said Republican party , party of whites, Democrats also divide by economical level , be rich is bad , to have an SUV is bad , even among them are many wealthy democrats. Learn from Haward Lucas and do your part.

This country was united after September 11th 2001 and it only took a few short months before Bush “The Uniter” divided this country to a level it had not be divided before. Give credit to Karl Rove for his political advise to not only win political battles, but to try to win in such a way your political enemy is humiliated. Nice job Bushie.
