On Sept. 27, Sen. Barack Obama held a rally in Fredericksburg that was, as far as I know, open to anybody who wanted to attend. Three weeks later, Sen. John McCain held a rally in Woodbridge.
According to this newspaper, one had to somehow obtain a ticket to attend.
I thought the purpose of a political rally was to get people to vote for you, not to only invite people who are already voting for you.
Alienating potential votes does not seem like a winning game plan.

The Woodbridge rally was important to the McCain-Palin campaign.
So important Sarah Palin blew it off to travel to New York to support her own personal agenda on SNL. She wore a nice outfit by the way. Very expensive looking.
Palin, it appears, always puts her personal needs ahead of her governmental duties. We only need to think of Trooper-gate and her desire to fire her brother in law over the rights of a state employee, or her continuing to live at home rather than serve her constituents by living in the State Capital.
One can only wonder, if elected, if she will remain in Walla Walla and only commute to DC “for important events” or actually serve as vice president of the US.
