Is anyone else out there tired of the huge “fuel” charges on their Dominion Virginia Power bill? I began to notice a significant increase to my bill in recent months and, upon inquiry, discovered the increase
was caused by a “fuel” charge that has been $150.00 or more on each of my past two bills.
And over the past four months my “fuel” cost has totaled more than $450. I am just one consumer. Imagine all of us put together. They are raking in the bucks for this. What is going on here?
Now, I am told that these charges are approved to continue indefinitely! Is anyone else out there aware of this? When I contacted the State Corporation Commission, Bureau of Energy Regulation, I was
informed that this case has been heard and approved, all tucked away in a file and legal and there is nothing I, as a consumer, can do about it now. I never knew there was a case being heard or that I
could have input about the outcome of it, until they already slid this by the consumer and we got bit by the result.
I encourage all citizens to contact the State Corporation Commission, file a complaint and demand that this ridiculously high “fuel” charge be stopped! We cannot continue to stand by while the large
electric corporations make comfy profits and we get stuck buying all their gas for them, plus paying for our electric service and paying the high price for our own fuel as well! This financial reaming of
citizens by Dominion Power and others must stop. None of us minds paying reasonable rates for our electric services, but their raking in profits while we struggle to keep gas in our own vehicles and fuel
in theirs is unfair. They know we have no choice but to use the electricity. This is one of the main downfalls of this society. We don’t engage in the process anymore, we let government. and corporate
America run our lives.
I just wonder what they would do if every customer decided to refuse to pay the fuel charges - would they shut us ALL off?

Get used to it, my friend. Big energy has bought and paid for the Republican party. They’re getting huge tax breaks, huge subsidies and gouging the consumer for every dime they can.
We could have been well on our way towards energy independence by now. Germany is well on their way with a huge amount of their energy coming from solar. Big energy can’t make a profit on a solar cell on your roof, so you’re not allowed to have one at a cost you can afford. It’s simple economics.
If you ever want to see reasonable energy rates in this country, vote for Obama, get everyone you know to vote for Obama, and spend a couple of days between now and the election volunteering at your local Democratic party headquarters.

Ms. Martinez:
Both Democrats and Republicans in the Virginia General Assembly are to blame for the increase by Dominion Power. Dominion is the largest campaign contributor to our elected officials. They have been trading employees with the Virginia Governor’s Office for years. A bill written by Dominion and submitted by Senator Tommy Norment(R) passed the General Assembly assisted by Senator Richard Saslaw(D), which moved Virginia to a system of re regulation
favored by Dominion.
Until responsible legislators are able to release the choke hold Dominion has on our General Assembly, Dominion’s profits will continue on the backs of Virginia residents.
