On June 8, the Chairman of the Prince William Democratic Committee had a letter published unfairly attacking Del. Jeff Frederick, who recently rose to be chair of the Virginia Republican Party.

In this letter, Jeff Frederick’s honesty and candor were called into question.

I would like to remind the writer and residents of the 52nd district that Jeff Frederick’s record in Richmond is strictly in line with his promises on the campaign trail.

He has supported the Republican principals of lower taxes and less government. Perhaps it is the ideological divide that the writer takes issue with. If so, then debate the issues — don’t slump to the
politics of personal attacks.

It was a recent change it still does not make it right. It does not cover college where in state fees can be and have been denied illegals or individuals not legally domiciled in the state. After all fair is fair, that is unless of course you are following a different Constitution? Chris Cummings

Chris,
If the Constitution “doesn’t make it right”, what does?

Willow i am well aware of the law concerning public schooling for illegals children born in the US. I am well aware of the Constitution on that. That does not make it right. Also concerning college and in state tuition for illegals it is not covered in the Constitution or mandated by state or Federal law. Chris Cummings

Chris,
I don’t have the laws in front of me. Perhaps you can cite, verbatim, the sentence that says, “This law does not apply to the children of illegal aliens.“; or words to that effect.

It does not cover in state tuition for illegals sorry Willow. I do understand the law concerning illegals children and public schools, so quote unquote do not quote law with me. If you want to go back, why didn’t Democrats place any emphasis on the worst problem facing the nation besides the downturning economy of course. Iraq and the War on Terror seem to be receding in the distance, but no less important in some peoples minds. Even though those will be concluded before anyone truely solves the Immigration problem. Chris,
The law, both federal & state requires the education of all children. The law does not separate legal from illegal. Educated people are far less likely to be a burden to the state.
When the Republicans controlled Virginia, the illegal immigration issue was not worth their time or money. Why is it now worth their time, but still not their money?
Because it gains the support of those willing to throw the money of others, not their own, at the problem.
It engenders the hope in Christo-fascists like Frederick & Marshall, that they will gain control & be able to impose their version of sharia law.

I voted for Mr Frederick. I also wrote to him via his website concerning an ongoing environmental problem that I have been dealing with for the last two years without resolution. I have yet to receive a reply from Mr Frederick or his staff. After dealing on the local level, I contacted Prince William County Environmental Health Department and described the environmental problem. The lady I talked with had no clue if the Environmental Health Dept actually covered environmental hazards!?!?!?!? She informed me she would check with someone and call me back ... yeah right, that has been 3-4 weeks ago and no phone call.

While some politicians remember their campaign pledges/rhetoric ... others have short memories unless something is in it for them. I may be getting old nowadays but my memory is still good enough to remember those who ignore my requests as a citizen and a voter. Speaking for myself, Mr Frederick now has one strike against him ... two to go and he’s outa there. As for the Environmental Health Department of PWC??? Perhaps they need a refresher course in what their job actually entails ... hint hint, the answer lies within the name of your department.

The part of the ideological that concerns many of use is the part ideologues like Frederick will not debate.
That part is religion: Their religion is right & the rest of us must be governed by their religion. If we object, we are making personal attacks. If we don’t object, we will soon find ourselves living, not in a democracy but, a theocracy.
