Rezoning agricultural land in the county

It was of great disappointment and deep hurt that the Prince William Board of County Supervisors (7-1) decided to rezone 152 acres of A1, agricultural land to Planned Business District in the Bristow and
Brentsville community of agricultural, historical and residential living — especially as their appointed planning commissioners were completely in denial of this rezoning.

As an adjoining landowner of more than 50 years of farming and so acquainted with the land, I did not get to tell the history of the land as in the beginning of my speaking time I was told to lower the microphone and had to start over — costing my time.

It would be so horrible and ugly to destroy this agricultural and historic land to build storage warehouses. Many spoke about the danger of more traffic on Bristow Road and the loss of history in relation to the battlefield on this land.

The crisis of tourism would be greatly reduced due to an unattractive sight. The loss of freedom to the environment would be gone forever.

Working and giving much of my time in volunteer work to this Prince William County to promote agricultural and historical events, along with the county election of qualified citizens, I truly can say that I lost all the great respect and loyalty for our Brentsville Supervisor Wally Covington and Prince William County Chairman Corey Stewart.

They were not trustworthy of their word in being for the people during their time of running for election.

Surely, they would have guilt in their souls to face the honorable citizens and historical activities of this Bristow and Brentsville community for abandoning this agricultural and historical land.

Just pause for a moment and think how agricultural land keeps everyone and everything living and growing the food that you eat, along with the soldiers that fought for the land.

Surely revelation must be close by. I hope it will be a good judgement day.

PWC has been building a ghetto county since former Board Chairman Kathleen Seefeldt was first elected to the Board of Developer Rubber Stampers WAY back when. When your Board views you as nothing more than a low cost, bedroom community, all the ghetto problems will follow.

The county needs money for its illegal alien program. Who cares who gets hurt.
Oh, & the developers will fill the pols pockets with money.

Sorry about the loss.  I too like open space. Lots of folks (not me) were taken in and lied to by Stewart.  The guy is a fascist.

it seems to be the fate of the county to be covered with strip malls, warehouse districts and housing on 1/8 acre lots. The “nokesville crescent” protected a lot of the land. I’d love to see a push for zoning laws in housing that mandates the property to be x times larger than the foot print of the house. Right now we’re just building future ghetto’s.

I’m sorry for this loss also.  Elections have consequences, and boy are we suffering the consequences.

But at least all the illegal immigrants are fleeing the county.  Hooray!
