While recent writers have taken the reproductive choice advocates to task by parroting the radical views of the Right to Life Committee, they have been light on facts.
Even though “Roe” plaintiff, Norma McCorvey, now takes the position that she is opposed to abortion after her successful lawsuit to enforce her reproductive rights, she never had an abortion and gave her
baby girl up for adoption.
Notably, she lied at the time and swore via affidavit that her pregnancy had resulted due to rape, which was untrue.
Planned Parenthood, like the Catholic church, is a not-for-profit corporation. Thus, Planned Parenthood does not “profit” from any service that it provides, including abortions which represent 3 percent of
the total services provided by Planned Parenthood. Planned Parenthood’s total assets for the 2006 tax year were nearly $40 million.
Compare that figure with the Catholic church, which holds $100 BILLION in assets. Note that Planned Parenthood provides lawful services and does not promote or condone illegal or criminal conduct as
compared to the priestly pedophiles that damaged thousands of boys and their families as the Catholic church acted as an enabler.
Also, remember that Planned Parenthood’s mission is to prevent unintended pregnancies, something that the Catholic church discourages through their condemnation of birth control, including
oral/hormonal contraception, condoms and even contraceptive foam.
In doing so and turning a blind eye to millions of women and men, the Catholic church provides no means to treat or prevent sexually transmitted diseases or to even diagnose and prevent cancer as
Planned Parenthood does. Notwithstanding the fact that Planned Parenthood refers women to outside adoption agencies, they also provide other women’s health services include pregnancy testing,
prenatal care, midlife client care and, yes, infertility management.

The Catholic Church even discourages condom use in Africa where AIDS is killing millions of people. Shame on them.
