Mr. Brothers III, as a local, an employee of Old Dominion Speedway. I only wish when shown your future home that you had taken the time to drive around the community, or perhaps the sellers had the foresight to mention the track.
As you stated, weekends from April to October, we are open for racing.
How ODS managed to sneak by in your contemplating your residence is solely on your shoulders.
ODS and PWC FAIR are long-standing community traditions and we plan for a long time to come.
I think it’s a shame you can’t see how these struggling venues in our fast-pace life hold excitement, fun and fond memories for people of all ages and cultures.
For your information, Prince William County police, Manassas police and Virginia have paid us many visits, so your plea is unanswered.
I can sympathize with your frustration in selling of a house. I don’t believe the reason is from the track. You are right in stating folks from out of state and surrounding communities attend our races.
Perhaps they would be interested in living in Manassas too.
My grandparents lived on Lucasville Road, my parents on Richmond Avenue. I’m more than aware of the sights and sounds of ODS/PWC FAIR.
I think for the future of my hometown, do not confuse issues of great importance to an overwhelmed county by blaming a welcomed venue for your mistake.
Stating this, I’d like to go one step further.
You would see more street racing if not for the track.
Maybe you will visit us and use the track to vent some of your rage, “You against the Tree,” or go around one of the “Oldest Ovals on the East Coast.” You’d see us at our best and know we are an
extended family.
Try not to feel so much anger for a past time that is Manassas; open your home, days we run. You may be surprised at the turn out you receive. Good luck, Mr. Brothers III.
See ya in the pits.

Mr. Brothers correctly points out many of the Old Dominion spectators are from out of PWC. Is this not what our tourist board wants - outsiders spending money in our community? PWC and Manassas spend hundred of thousands of our tax dollars each year to make our area a point of destination. Old Dominion’s success shows that money is well spent. Old Dominion brings in commerical revenues that help keep our taxes low.
