Some get cost of illegals, others don’t

Dora Brooks gets it. The illegal alien students increase expenditures in the school budget. Any thinking person should realize this is the case, not just in education, but in all monetary spending.
Del. Ben Cline doesn’t get it. He wants to penalize undocumented moped speeders. A band-aid fix. Del. Cline, get a bill that states, if you break any law and you’re illegal/undocumented, you are locked up and removed from our state and country.
President Bush and our governor doesn’t get it. John McCain doesn’t get it. We the people pay for all these services whether it’s federal, state or local.

Let’s try to keep a civil tongue towards one another. We all have opinions and we should be able to make statements of facts that back our opinions without belittling a person with an opinion that differs from ours.
This is a wonderful forum that we will lose if we can’t remain civil towards one another. I spent my high school years arguing Ford vs Chevy and you know what? At the end of 4 years the Ford guys still loved Fords and the Chevy guys still loved Chevys and none of us owned stock in either!

And now we are picking on the innocent children after defaming and disparaging the weak and the vulnerable. What a strategy! I thought the real issue was the bloated bureaucracy that is diverting so much money from our kids and classrooms. Please, take the time to consult PWCS organizational chart. The layer of managers is astonishing but limited criticism is blowing their way. those are strong, connected, and protected by the establishment. As a result, they enjoy a high degree of immunity. It sure looks like it.

COBRA, you’d be surprised how many school kids qualify for free or reduced lunches. The country is loaded with poverty. Would you deny a hungry kid a lunch ormbreakfast? Evidently you would. You must be big in a church.

Lets not forget the fact that not only do we have to increase expenditures for ESL, a majority of those children also qualify for the reduced lunch/breakfast program which is an enormous costs for small School Systems such as Manassas City. I do however agree that children need to be in school regardless of their immigration status. That’s a no brainer however the public has the right to know the true costs of all those programs that are supported by tax the payers.

Population growth, legal or illegal, increasaes school expenditures also. So do we hal growth and keep people from moving here?
