I would like to thank all of those who supported me on May 6 in my campaign for Dumfries Town Council.  I had never run for public office before and realize now the support one must have from family, friends, financial supporters and the citizens. 

Tuesday was a wonderful day in Dumfries and I appreciate all those voters who came out to support me as well as all the other candidates who were running. 

My biggest thanks goes to my husband, Gary, who supported me from the beginning:  putting out my signs, walking with me every step of the way as we canvassed every community in Dumfries and encouraging me when I became discouraged.

I look forward to working with Mayor Fred Yohey, those who are continuing on the council and with Ms. Barr and Mr. Toney. Together we can build a better Dumfries.
