I just couldn’t let this week come to an end without a comment on the July 22 Washington Post opinion entitled, “Prince William, a Year Later. A crackdown’s toxic effects.” The opinion piece says that
Chairman Corey Stewart and his merry band of demagogues have managed to get national attention for Prince William County. Unfortunately, the national attention has put the county in the National Hall
of Shame for, “its drive to hound, harass and humiliate illegal immigrants…”.
The Post goes on to point out that, “Across the nation, Prince William has become synonymous with an ugly strain of nativist intolerance that has deep roots in American history but which is a slander on
the county’s generally well-educated and diverse population.”
Stewart moved into Prince William County with who knows what political agenda on his tiny mind except to bamboozle the citizens of this county into believing that the county was being eaten alive by
immigrants, particularly illegal or undocumented immigrants. He whipped up such a storm that he convinced the other members of the Board of County Stupidvisors to unanimously support a law denying
certain services to illegal immigrants and requiring Prince William County police to verify the immigration status of every soul arrested — particularly those who look like they are from south of the border.
Despite untold hours of reviewing the services in question, the county staff never could determine if any illegal immigrant had ever requested any of them. And although the county police chief Charlie T.
Deane adamantly denies that any racial profiling goes on, I wonder just how many light-skinned, fair-haired, blue-eyed immigrants the police have arrested have been the subject of the same immigration
status check as those who appear to come from Mexico or one of the Central or South American countries.
So Board of County Stupidvisors, bask in your glory. As for the rest of the county citizenry —WAKE UP! You’ve been sucker punched. You have allowed the stupidvisors to brand, “Prince William as the
one locality in the Washington area where demagoguery by elected officials has gotten the better of coolheaded public deliberation.” It is time to vote Stewart and his band of circus clowns out of office.
Prince William County deserves better government.

The current odds on the presidental election is 2:1 favoring Sen. Obama. This is up from 3:2 favoring Sen. Obama as of last month.

Not that polls means jack in July, but Cobra is so incredibly full of it and uninformed its embarrassing. Just like all Republicans, Cobra believes if you repeat something loudly and often it becomes true.
Since we all know that our President is elected by the electoral college, not the popular vote, I suggest you check out the polling of the electoral votes:

270 wins the White House. Wow, if the election was held today its DEMS 284, REPS 147, TOSSUP 107. Maybe the Supreme Court can step in and help you out, Cobra.
Just look at the polling map, and you start to realize why McSame has gone negative and borderline crazy in the middle of the summer. The guy has to do SOMETHING or he’s going to make Bob Dole look competitive.
Cobra, McSame and the rest, enjoy yourselves. You can complain about the race card, Paris Hilton, uppity Obama, etc; for the next three months. Our candidate is out there talking about new energy policies, economic stimulus checks and a windfall tax on big oil profits. We’ll see what people really care about when they vote in November.

cobra, I think I stepped on your tail with my posting ‘cause I hear you rattleling, calling us posters “fools” and “stupid” is the only way you can take an argument. no one has said that it’s ok for illegals to brake the law, what we are saying here is that making C. Stewart some kind of god or saviour is a real stupidity and thinking that the resolution is working is even worse, you cobra, are a blind and narrow-minded citizen, all you can do is calling names on people that think different than you, believe me, we are trying hard to make you see the reality of the immigration problem, do you think (if you do) that one sorry and racist resolution is going to solve this huge problem? of course not. even a person with down-sindrome could tell you that. a year later, illegals are still here, happy and well! while you and the rest of us, keep on exchanging unnecessary insults.
I really don’t care who the hell wins the elections but what I do care is that “CHANGE is urgently needed in this country. starting with immigration.

cobra, you confuse me. I thought you lived in the City of Manassas, and therefore could not vote for Corey - a PWC election.
Who you could vote for was David Core and Maureen Woods in the City Council primary. There your HSM candidates got spanked.
Why do you never respond when I ask about the City Council primary and how your issues were defeated BY VOTERS.
You’re very good at name calling but pretty pisspoor at admitting when you are wrong. Man up for once and answer the question.

Your just another in a long list of crying libs. We won the election fair and square. The current PWBOS is doing what it was elected to do. Sorry your candidate lost the election but we are just sick of all you cry babies on this site. Why is it that libs can never move on and accept the results of an election? And speaking of Chief Deane, he was utterly silent when Officer Phil Harrover was run over by an illegal Hispanic drunk driver who left him on the side of the road like a dog several months back. I just wonder if he had a change of heart when that happened. His position is to enforce the laws that are enacted. He is not a policy maker. He has served PW County well for over 30 years but it’s time for new leader in that position. Typical lib position on illegal immigration. Leave them alone if their not committing crimes. Here’s a news flash for ya fool, by being in the US and having no authorization to work, the have already committed crimes but I know that is just ok with libs. Hope you don’t have children. I guess its ok for them to misbehave as long as their not caught. Man you libs are about the most stupid people on the face of the earth. You’ll argue a black sheep’s white. I see your BOY BHO is still playing the race card. He is slipping daily in the polls. Man I will hate to see him loose as we will again have to endure 4 years of crying by you miserable libs. Stewart. it looks like you will waste it again if you vote for him or Republican in the next election. my respect for PWC police department for opposing the most idiotic resolution in the history of PWC, conservatives like cobra, want to see every Latino walking or riding a bike in PWC to be arrested and deported, sorry cobra, that’s not going to happen because the majority of them are legal residents, illegals are a fraction and as long as they don’t commit any crimes they aren’t going anywhere. go to Stewart’s office and yelled at him for lying to you and for lying to every good citizen of PWC.

too funny! the WaPo opined it, it must be true…
more likely, your world is not directly affected by it, so you do not believe there ever was a problem? or think the federal govt. “blind eye” strategy was effective?
and as far as racial profiling goes...i bet you would also rather see an elderly white lady screened thoroughly at an airport, as opposed to a young male w/ olive skin? first priority should always be to make sure we do not offend someone!!!
i am sure i will now be called a racist, but i prefer realist. it never bothered me (suprise, a white male) when chief moose was out looking for his caucasian sniper. but my feelings are bottom of totem pole. not that there is anything wrong with any part of a totem pole...please do not take that the wrong way native americans.

Thanks for coming out from under the rock in which you have been hiding under for the last year. We had an election in PW County. The citizens voted for those that supported the community’s demands to rid it of illegal immigrants, particularly those that commit crimes. Not sure where the hell you have been. You cry baby libs will get another opportunity to vote in the next County election. I want you to again support a spineless candidate who will not back the illegal immigrant resolution. The outcome will be the same. You will be on the loosing side. The citizens did wake up. We woke up to a nightmare in our communities with thousands of criminal immigrants amongst us. It is you Mr. Harris who needs to wake up. But don’t get upset at my post as shortly you will have your illegal alien apologist such as Ray Williams, Phdeebag & RonnieCharest supporting your BS. Man I just can’t take any more crying from you looser libs. Get over it. Wring out the towel and move on. I bet you got an OBAMA sticker on your Hyundai.

Oh George, what a doomsayer you are. To quote the Wash Post is to say that you ignore their bias and believe every letter printed. I sure don’t.

Deane adamantly denies that any racial profiling goes on, I wonder just how many light-skinned, fair-haired, blue-eyed immigrants the police have arrested have been the subject of the same immigration status check as those who appear to come from Mexico or one of the Central or South American countries.” It’s pretty callous of you to openly accuse our police force of profiling without any proof. I’m more than willing to go through a few more questions if needed, providing ALL people are treated the same. So far the proof to secure your opinion is missing.
And George, no sense in name calling (i.e. “stupidvisors") it deflates any point you’re trying to make with such a sophomoric way of thinking.
