The Post is not a good basis for opinion

Regarding a Manassas letter of Aug. 1, I couldn’t pass on a reaction. When you used the Post opinion for reference on to how to govern or rate your reputation, you begin with a bad limp. I haven’t found
citizenry who cares about that opinion down in Prince William. It’s mostly full of ads anyway.
You claim Stewart’s tiny mind has bamboozled most citizens. You are more aware than all of us? Declaring the board stupid followers displays inaccuracy and ignorance of their responsive efforts for
us. Arrestee status verification actually helps shift the problem to the feds, unless they free them. Race, ethnicity, country are irrelevant when laws are broken to get here and more are broken after. What
is your purpose to ignore this?
If local services are being requested by illegals, then county staff findings don’t matter. You assume and state no basis to question Chief Deane’s accounting on racial profiling. PW is very awake, aware
and dealing with issues. State and local courage to stand up like PW is rare. Calling it a federal problem is an excuse to make no effort. That dodge has lost elections. PW’s majority doesn’t want
and can’t handle the problems of sanctuary sites and has decided to act. Perhaps focusing on Manassas issues would serve better?
I’ve lived and done business here for 30 years. Uncontrolled growth and infrastructure shortcomings were the earlier reputation. Adding unregistered hundreds to the population in the last decade has
required a policy. My father was an immigrant who provided papers, was drafted, taxed, paid fees, registered border crossings… all before citizenship. Ignoring law and assuming entitlement has nothing
to do with race. A color isn’t doing this … people are, while others condone it.
You say the demagogue chairman stirred up the tail-wag board and herded us sleeping citizens into harassing a race? You seem out of touch. Making a plea is one thing, but who are you to scold? One
who gains from another ethnicity by cheap labor, soapbox importance for the “good of mankind” or potential votes?

It is interesting that dothe right thing uses the Post to pickup after his cat in the yard/ Wjy subscribe asnd pay for it? It’s like those who bitch about the Pot News but subscribe neverthelesds (or don’t subscribe, but closely follow its internet postings). The fact is they like the papers - just can’t admit it. There is always the Moonie paper.

WTOP Radio reported today that 500 - yes Five Hundred! - illegal immigrants have been turned over to ICE. 500 - a remarkable number of our, say 15,000 illegals living in PWC. Going to be a long time cleaning up the country at that rate. As I’ve said before, an illegal has a better change of hitting the lottery than being arrested for the crime of Improper Paperwork. You guys keep rooting for Corey!

Further evidence why other jurisdictions will soon be saying enough is enough and will want to implement their own illegal immigrant resolution to protect their residents. Channel 9 reported today the following:
LEESBURG, Va (WUSA)—A Leesburg woman is speaking out about a face to face encounter she won’t soon forget.
“I wake up to a guy hovering over me, grabbing my arm to roll me over,“ recalls Christina Diaz. She says she was terrified for herself and her 2 young children who were sleeping nearby. She asked him “who are you? What do you want from me? Take what you want from me, just get out.“ His response? “All he said was ‘shh, shh, cayase, cayase which is shut up in Spanish,“ she remembers.
Police believe the masked intruder who carried a knife could be the same man who’s ambushed 4 other women in the Exeter and Kincaid Forrest developments of Leesburg. Investigators say each time, he’s entered through unlocked doors and windows and after trying to grope the sleeping women, leaves without taking a thing.

This is ridiculous. The Washington Post is one of the most respected newspapers in our country.
I don’t always agree with the editorial content of the Wall Street Journal which clearly has a more conservative leaning. But I still respect that it is a legitimate source of news and opinion with high journalistic standards.

Mr. Devins:
I could not agree more with your comment about the Washington Post and Mr. Harris’s letter. The Washington Post has always had the reputation of being a left wing paper. I use the Washington Post to pick up after my pet in the yard.
ANTIBVBL blog site under the cover of providing a forum for debate on illegal immigration, has turned into a hate group whose only mission is to attack our resolution, elected officials who don’t agree with their political agenda, and their spouses. This site has done more to damage Prince William County’s reputation. Despite their best effort, the majority of our elected officials have remained steadfast in their commitment to our resolution.
If the Washington Post and the Potomac News are complaining about our illegal immigrant resolution, that tells us all that it is having a positive effect on our community, despite the efforts of these newspapers, illegal immigrant rights groups, and citizen bloggers who are attempting to fan the flames of the
illegal immigrant debate.
