The world watched in awe

Equality in America had a long and sordid history on the road to Obama’s victory. America now faces Robert Frost’s phrase:

“Two roads diverged in a wood, and I —

I took the one less traveled by,

And that has made all the difference.”

The step forward must be taken together because the woods on either side are filled with deadly dangers and because it is the right and proper thing to do.

Sen. John McCain, a great naval hero, in his acceptance speech showed why he is also a great American. He made it simple. He put America first.

The American political system must stand on strong, stable political parties. Today, and in following years, the Republican Party must be rebuilt.

The extremists who destroyed it must be replaced along with their radical right policies.

How and by when that party will recreate itself in support of America is vital to America’s future. Its rational balance, yin and yang, the golden mean of reasoning, whatever you call it, must be restored.

rafaelva—I’ll give you that one, but with prejudice.

The letter does have, in my opinion, an extremist tone which concerns me somewhat.  That is the point I was trying to make.

g&g;, you know darn good and well that the line you quoted, did not appear in the letter above, nor the response below.
Nor is there any way to construe that meaning from either text.

“the xtremists…must be destroyed”, eh?

That sounds a bit—ah—extreme, doesn’t it?

This kind of reckless chatter can cut both ways.  Nice job of falling on your own blade.

“The extremists who destroyed it must be replaced along with their radical right policies”

We often overlook the fact that while there are many Barack Obama fans and supporters, this election was lost by failed Republican policies.

America is governed best by a working two-party system and the sooner the Republican Party is able to cleanse themselves of the cancer that invaded the party over the past eight years the better.

The grand experiment of Karl Rove and Dick Cheney, along with the fanatical but vocal, narrow-minded social agenda-only supporters simply failed.

The Republican Party will return when it is able to offer candidates with more centralist views favored by the American voters.

For those whom social issues are important, I will remind them America has not taken their right to live their life in the manner in which they chose. But America has expressed a strong belief that a minority does not have the right to dictate all others must follow their narrow path of preceived happiness - and that yes, we also can think for ourselves.
