Vocal minority, again, plays the race card

The Prince William Board of County Supervisors made the right decision several months ago, when they unanimously passed “The Rule of Law” resolution. They also chose correctly when they voted unanimously to fund its implementation.

Now, a small, but vocal minority, once again playing the race card, is attempting to undo what has been done. I strongly urge the board to continue on their course and not allow themselves to fall prey to those who do not have our county’s best interest in mind.

In a little more than a month, we have begun to visibly see the impact of this resolution. There has already been a substantial reduction in ESOL costs in our schools, dramatic improvements with residential overcrowding throughout the county and reduced crowds in the ER.

The bottom line is, it is working. We have come too far to be intimidated now. Stay the course.

phdee, there was a huge boom in the oil feilds out west in the late 70’s throughout the 80’s. US oil production slowed waaay down and much of the west was in a huge bust. Texas, Oklahoma, wyoming etc had areas that looked like ghost towns literally. Most booms are not controlled and are therefore followed by a bust.

phdee, PWC lead N.Va in the housing boom. Fairfax had been pretty much built out. The bigger the housing boom, teh bigger the bust. the housing bust has nothing to do with illegals specifically. I’m sure some of them have sufferred right along with the rest of the population with that one.

Do the right thing, another personal attack?  (Your Ginkgo biloba comment on another post.)  Youre such a hypocrite.  Whats the matter, cant think of a response?  Dont you deride PHDee for making similar personal attacks?

Well in case you forgot, heres a run down of the issue:

You say the citizens of PWC overwhelming support the resolution, but the evidence doesnt support that.  Chairman Stewart (the face of the resolution) only carried 56% of a vote that represented only 30% of the electorate (the entire county, in case you need help with that definition).

And while youre at it, why dont you answer Rays questions of how this resolution as its written is even sustainable (correct me if I got this wrong, Ray).

No doubt you wont answer either, though, because youre not up to the task.  Youre responses will probably go something like this:

Oh ya, well [insert irrelevant comment here].

And Rule of Law!  Rule of Law!  RULE OF LAW!  [Again missing the point of the two comments above.]

Also, your comments are moronic.  [Sticks and stones . . . .]

So I dont have to answer them.  [Not realizing, of course, that if the questions are really that moronic then only a bigger moron would be unable to answer them.]

Once and again, keep up the good work.

The anti crowd must have lots of “peeping toms” in it.  How else would so many of them know about overcrowding, fewer people in ER, ESOL classes, etc. Non e of the anti folks have everf cited any facts, polls, studies, etc. on these topics.  I can onsly surmise that “somebody is watching”.  Better pull down the window shades, folks.  Someone could be watching and observing.

While I’m sure Mr. Weaver and Mr. Cummings are fine gentlemen, I don’t think I would buy a used car from either. Once again they are mixing red paint with white paint and proclaiming the result to be green. Cumming’s often crows about being Pro LEGAL immigration and only distains Illegal immigration, but when doing math, both Cummings and Weaver include the exodus of ALL immigrants in their figures to come up with these impressive savings. While I’ll refrain from using the ‘R’ word here, I would ask them to recalculate the savings to PWC based on only the exit of the ‘undesirable’ ILLEGAL immigrants and not include our fine legal, law-abiding immigrants who have left PWC in their math numbers. Unless, of course, they are happy to have any Hispanic of low-economic means leave. This would then open the door for a new word - prejudiced.

Hey barnum, how did PWC and Manassas get so many bad mortgages that it caused so many foreclosures in housing?

I re=read the article, my post, and several others.  I don’t see anything wrong in what I said. It appears that any “activity” that shows a “decline” in some perceived activity by an immigrant is now being grabbed by the anti folks as proof the resolution is working.

I too have asked several of the anti crowd where are these “savings” - no one cqan say—- there aren’t any savings - that’s why they can’t identify them.

I ask barnum now why Manassas and PWC lead n. Va. in foreclosures by a long shot? Other counties have budget and problems with them. If there is a national housing bust, why is it hitting PWC harder than the others? Well, the ONE thing PWC has isa RESOLUTION of ethnic cleansing and racism.  The other counties have immigrants too, but no resolution.  And PWC and Manazssas has a bun ch of BOCS Republican racists, HSM, Letiecq, KKK, et al. You bood old boys just don’t get the effect this “trash” can have on a place.

Vic, have you noticed that Do the right thing does the same thing?

Have noted that when critics of an immigration law enforcement action can’t dispute or refute the facts or logic of event or argument, they resort to name calling.

For example, see anything posted by phdee.  Just because I disagree with you does not make me a racist.

twist and weave. phdee, I dont think the ER turns anyone away. If there are less illegals in town, there will be less people using the ER for free health care. the foreclosure issue has nothing to do with the illegals, it has everything to do bad mortgages. the budget problems again are not a direct result of the resolution. It is a direct result of the housing bust, the same housing bust that is going on all over the nation.
