Vote for Connolly in the Democratic primaries

Those of us that vote in the 11th Congressional District will elect a new Congressman in November. To deal with our growing domestic problems and to help redirect our foreign policy, we need strong, progressive leadership in this position.

Of the candidates for this seat in Congress, the best by far is clearly Gerry Connolly.

Gerry Connolly has a record of success in both the public and private sectors. As a member of the Fairfax County Board of Supervisors since 1995 and chairman since 2003, he has built broad coalitions, balanced budgets and made vital investments in that community. Gerry Connolly understands the issues of Northern Virginia and the concerns of its citizens.

He spent a decade on the senior staff of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, traveling to 76 countries, and concentrating on the Middle East and Latin America. Gerry Connolly understands the realities facing the United States in the world today.

He has worked for a major corporation in community relations. Gerry Connolly understands the problems of businesses in today’s economy and the responsibilities of those businesses to the communities in which they reside.

Gerry Connolly will fight for human rights and civil liberties, for infrastructure investment, for quality education, for affordable health care, to prevent global warming and to end the war in Iraq.

Please vote for Gerry Connolly in the June 10 Democratic primary and in the general election in November.
