We did not all want Obama’s change

Ok, so the leftist, radical liberal, Barack Obama won! And congratulations Prince William County on your support of another Jimmy Carter, a die-hard socialist who will “spread the wealth” and take from
the rich and give to the poor.
Well, at least they aren’t out there claiming that those despicable Republicans stole the election. Why not? Because the liberals won and there is no need to claim those things — libs only complain,
accuse, blame and attack when they lose.
Our next president said: “Change has come to America.” Well, Mr. Obama, 55 million of us didn’t want the radical, big government, higher taxes “change” you hinted at but never really detailed.
(Remember that those 55 million voters that voted against you are more than any other candidate got in the history of presidential elections!) In your speech you said it “might not happen in the first year
or the first term.” I guess that implies that you lied about being able to accomplish your promises? Sounds like you are already admitting you can’t fulfill your promises! If Bush lied using information that
turned out to be unreliable, then you lied in the same way. It only took one day for you to lie. It took Bush a number of months (although he did not lie, just relied on information that everyone thought was
accurate).
I for one, will be watching every day, Mr. Obama, to hold you accountable as your liberal party has done every minute for the last seven years and 10 months. I will call you names, question your veracity
and intelligence, blame you for everything from bad weather to ingrown toenails, as you all did to my president since January 20, 2001. The difference is that I will actually want my new president to
succeed! Maybe next time a Republican is elected, you all can do the same.

Pwanon writes We either have the stomach to fight this war, or we can expect to address more terrorist attacks on U.S. soil.
Pwanon do you know who is in charge of the terrorists and how and when we can expect them to sit down at the surrender table? Will Osama Bin Laden sign a formal declaration of surrender that allows us all to return to peace? Once this document is signed will all the terrorists abide by it? Or will this go on forever until the Christians defeat the Muslims on the great battlefield of war?
You seem to know things the rest of us don’t know so help me understand it all.

And perhaps I did not make this clear enough, so I’ll repost it one more time:

“President Bush did not torture Khalid Sheik Mohammed. President Bush tortured America, her values, her trust and her image throughout the world”
What are you…a teenage drama queen? We are facing a dangerous, cruel, and murderous threat from Islamic extremists like Khalid Sheik Mohammed. It really boils down to this:
I would prefer that he be waterboarded, should it even have the remotest chance of preventing the murder of a single American citizen. He has no rights under any Constitution or Convention, and has proven that “human” rights need not apply to a mass murderer of Americans. Da*n what countries like France think of us when it comes to preventing terrorism on our soil.
You would prefer that we play footsy with him, continuing Democratic refusal to acknowledge the deadliness of our enemy and the true nature our struggle against islamic terrorism.
In this struggle…he who is most committed wins. And by “wins”, I mean “stays alive”.
We either have the stomach to fight this war, or we can expect to address more terrorist attacks on U.S. soil.
“If a POS American citizen does not understand this now, he never will.“

“You’re honestly shedding a tear if a POS like that got waterboarded so we could get information out of him? If so…why?“
And at this point it is clear pwanon and I will have to simply agree to disagree as there appears to be no middle ground we will ever meet on.
“Why” you ask? Because it is not about the tourture of one man. It is about how the very act of torture reflects back on the image of America.
The United States of America stands for truth, justice, liberty and freedom. We are respected throughout the world as the beacon of honesty and openness in our policies. Your Bush Administration often liked to point out the fact AQ hates us for this very reason.
And then the Bush Administration throws all this under the bus to gain a few words of worthless information about events that already happened.
President Bush did not torture Khalid Sheik Mohammed. President Bush tortured America, her values, her trust and her image throughout the world.
If a POS American citizen does not understand this now, he never will.

“I see there is still no civility, so I’m going to back out again”
Actually willow, this board needs the balance you help to provide as it keeps the dingbats too far to the left and too far to the right somewhat in check.
I think the Obama Administration will govern towards the center and at some point, all but the extreme fringes will join in supporting him.

Wow. Ron, I’m not sure your state of mental health is even bordering on “sane” any more.
“Lying our nation into a war,“
Right. By following the intelligence that EVERY major intelligence service in the world believed to be true. And, if I’m not wrong…wasn’t in the new hero of the Party of Surrender…Colin Powell…who presented all of those “lies” to the UN?
“raising torture and dissappearing people as national policy,“
I’d assume you have some evidence of this, right? Ah, nevermind…evidence is such a burden when rhetoric is so much easier. He permitted the torture of roughly 4 to 5 AQ terrorists, including Khalid Sheik Mohammed, who were directly responsible for 9/11. You’re honestly shedding a tear if a POS like that got waterboarded so we could get information out of him? If so…why? Do you realize who we’re talking about? Terrorists like that have forfeited their “rights” to any humane treatment. Personally, I think they should just dress them as a police officer and post them anywhere Bill Ayers can see them…since you know they’ll get attacked then.
“wiretapping and spying on American citizens without probable cause,“
And you know this how? Because Arianna Huffington told you so? Please…try to find a fact or two somewhere. But, you know full well…“Facts don’t make Democrats look good.“
“stand trial for high treason against these United States, war crimes and crimes against humanity.“
Again…evidence? Do you even know what treason is? Do you have any functioning, firing synapses in that cavernous waste of space on top of your shoulders?
Please. Get a grip.

I see there is still no civility, so I’m going to back out again. I’ll come back about mid-February to see how many have survived their fits of anger & to see if they’re still raging or have mellowed.

Pwanon,
Actually you are correct in writing:
“The treatment that GWB has gotten for the past 8 years has been nothing short of disgraceful.“
The way President Bush has conducted himself these past eight years has been criminal. Lying our nation into a war, raising torture and dissappearing people as national policy, wiretapping and spying on American citizens without probable cause, looting our national treasury, using the Department of Justice to eliminate political opponents, outing a CIA agent as a political vendetta…
Yes, the treatment President Bush has received for all this and more has been disgraceful. He should have been arrested, put in shackles, blindfolded, and frog-marched out of the White House along with VP Cheney, Rove and dozens of other aids straight to the pen, ultimately to stand trial for high treason against these United States, war crimes and crimes against humanity.

Wow…who didn’t see this type of confrontation coming? I believe I predicted this a few weeks back—I guess now I might want to think about buying a crystal ball and hanging out a sign.
PWCDEM, when you say that George W. Bush is the worst president in US history, you might want to qualify things a bit by adding “in my opinion” and “to date” or “so far”.
In MY opinion, there were a few Presidents that were far, far worse: Warren Harding, Millard Fillmore, James Buchanan, Chester Arthur and William Howard Taft all come to mind.
By the way, try and keep a civil tongue in this forum. Don’t be foolish, or thought of as a fool because you let your passions get the better of you. Don’t make enemies among those who barely even know you yet.
There’s common ground here somewhere, which we’ll find eventually.

“The treatment that GWB has gotten for the past 8 years has been nothing short of disgraceful”
Yes this is true. But in my humble opinion, Bush brought it on himself.
As jVA so clearly points out “Bush had one of the highest levels of support and approval after 9/11. He’s the one who wasted it. He’s the one who failed.“ Well put.
President Bush had the opportunity after 9-11 to unite this country under one common goal. But to President Bush’s detriment, he fell under the spell of Karl Rove, who whispered in his ear over and over again that the Bush legacy could be Republican domination for years into the future.
Karl Rove did not care about America, Karl Rove cared about the Republican Party and holding onto power. Yea, he failed too.
Unlike in the past where Democrats wilted in the face of a Republican onslaught, this time we were determined to take back our country from the United Republican States of America.
When did we become a country that publicly attacks our president? Personally I feel this all started when we quit wearing coats and ties when flying commerical airlines - but perhaps that was Miss Manners speaking.
If the bitter people like pwanon take the time to think back to the past, the tone was set when Republicans smelled blood in the water and began to attack President Clinton over his cigar habits. His actions had nothing to do with the governing of the country, but Republicans did not let up. In their failure to chase Mr. Clinton out of office, they also let down the American citizens.
While liking to blame Clinton for “everything”, it was Republicans and attack dogs like Ken Starr that made the final two years of the Clinton Administration essentially non-productive and our country suffers today for their interference.
Republicans set the tone of attack. Democrats took it to a higher level and prevailed.
You losers can continue to walk your failed path or join with us to make this country healthy again.
To work against President Obama is to work against America herself.
