Why we lost the 2008 election

The post 2008 election debate that should now be engaged should be among us — so-called right-wing members of our society — addressing our loss to the left with the election of Obama to the
presidency.
We should have the single purpose of uniting the right among the three sides of the issue within the Republican Party, and with that strengthened majority, we should plan to oppose the fully-united left
under the Democrats to recapture our federalist, constitutional democracy from annihilation by a Washington dictatorship (super majority in the Congress, aided and abetted by a socialist White House
over the next four years).
First consideration should be given to a top-down reorganization and redefinition, of the Republican Party as being principally conservative, with a center (religious), and left (neo-) constituency. This
should include a concerted effort to unite traditional (eastern elite) factions with new (national) party members. Second, renewing the effort to build a strong Republican voter turnout uniting all those
elements should be a top priority in all, future, campaigns at both the federal and state levels.
The strong turnout for Obama, including radical left, young and old ethnic-dreamer, energized, star-struck, “undecided” and life-long-Dem voters, is what beat McCain/Palin, while disgruntled, disparate,
stay-at-home Republicans gave Obama/Biden their victory. McCain’s refusal to embrace his right-wing conservatism, while ignoring his running mate’s, was the final blow to his electability.
Somehow the label of “right wing” has become a mark of derision, if not political racism (often linked to rich and white), to denote conservative (Republican) voters. Anyone who has taken tie trouble to
read a history book would recognize that conservatism was the guiding principal forming this nation.
The Axis, in World War II, rose to power using the more or less democratic workings of their parent nations, before becoming dictators and despots. Even Marxist/Stalinist Russia evolved disguised as a
democratic utopia. Republicans now should risk the label of mavericks (even right-wing radicals,) recall those history lessons and urge all U.S. Citizens to recognize the creeping threat of socialism.

We lost? Know you lost, LOL I’m very pleased with the outcome of the election. Let me pull your coat tail to a fax you seem to be missing. This election was about the middle class which you seem to believe you are not a part of. The mere fact that you are posting on this form means that you are middle class. How insane is it for you to come against some that was running to help you? McCain has millions of dollars, health care is not his issue, Social security is not a Rich mans issue; these are middle class issues, wakeup and smell the coffee. Rich men want Wars, because they make money, and the blood of the poor and middle class flood foreign lands. Stop this brainwashed fear of anything not GOP.

“Loved your obsession with Governor Palin. Makes me think you don’t like woman Ray??“
No cobra, I like women. I fall into that group that thinks Sarah Palin is a hottie - but then again, with $23,000 in makeup and $150,000 in designer clothing anyone should look hot.
The problem with Palin is she was not competing for a date on The Bachelorette but was running to be our vice president.
The first gig she is qualified for, the second I think not.

You boys should all get together to feel that thrill up your leg like Chris Matthews. Man it was priceless on Election Day to hear those fellow lib morons celebrating as BHO was going to pay their car payment and rent. BHO went around for two years telling us all what he was going to give us. First words out of mouth after Election Day were to say, “WE ALL NEED TO BE MORE SELF RELIANT”. Well heck BHO, you promised me the world and now I got to actually stand on my own two feet? RayWilliams is def the Drama Queen of Inside Nova. Loved your obsession with Governor Palin. Makes me think you don’t like woman Ray?? As far as I know we Conservatives got up and went to work on Nov 5 just like we always do. When you guys lose it’s off to Court. My boys Rush & Hannity will have plenty of material the next four years. Oh that’s right, you so called Constitutional protectors want to silence them!!!

I guess “we” is all relative. From my perspective, “we” won the election with 67 million people voting for President-elect Obama.
Seems to me that Mr. Moore personalizes the reason Republicans lost. It’s that “Us” ves “Them” approach; You’re either with us or you’re against us. Apparently, there’s way more “them” out there now than “Us.“ Gotta wonder why…

I guess the republicans simply can’t deal with this loss. Timing was quite bad as the country went as low as it possibly could. We needed hope, and the people clearly looked in another direction by removing the republicans.

rafaelva,
I love that “socialism” bit too.
Especially hilarious because Republicans jumped on board with Democrats, and Bush didn’t veto the bill. But rather than call it what it really was, “welfare for big business,“ the whole thing was recharacterized as a “rescue package.“

Interesting, while the current Republican administration has recently semi-nationalized 31 banks, reabsorbed Fannie and Freddie, and is allegedly in control of AIG, we are to worry about “creeping socialism” by a not yet in place Democratic administration.

I love how people like Mr. Moore attribute Obama’s election to left-wingers and starry-eyed morons.
News flash! Obama won Virginia, Indiana, Colorado, and Georgia. Did left wingers make the difference in those states?
And as far as morons making the difference, where does that one come from? Were Americans less educated this election than in previous ones?

Brilliant. Another right winger who cannot admit the real reasons the election were lost. I still find it amusing that the right insist that what Obama said is socialism. He never once said he was going to take anyones money and give it to other people. He said he is going to distribute the wealth around through properly taxing the rich instead of giving them tax break after tax break. The right has spent the last 7 years engaged in the worst kind of government, a dictatorship run by someone who has been clueless form the start. Our economy is a mess, our government spies on us, they kidnap foreigners from their own countries and claim them to be enemy combatants so they can torture and abuse them. Furtherm, the right baited us into giving over 700 billion of our tax money to get people out of the mess they are in and then refused to use the money as promised. Once again big banks and businesses are getting away with lavish parties and super bonuses at the end of the year. A bonus for what? Wake up neocons, you lost the election because you have run this country into the ground and people are sick of it. 90% of what has transpired the last 8 years can be directly linked to Bush and his thugs that spent months threating and bullying the rest of the world to support the Iraq invasion based on lies upon lies. Its pathetic that the right refuses to help its own citizens in times of need yet is willion to spend billions on a country that does not want us there. Congrats on having your priorites completely backwards….....
