An individual in Centreville feels strongly that William Ayers does not matter.
Mr. Ayers the Weather Underground unrepentant terrorist bomber worked side by side with Barack Obama in the past!
Now I am asking the reader in Centreville if Reverend Jeremiah Wright and Tony Rezko do not matter either!
Reverend Wright spewed racist hatred from the pulpit and Mr. Rezko, who could soon to be a guest of the federal correctional system, had questionable real estate dealings with Obama!
Obama’s connection with Ayers,Wright and Rezko, raise serious questions about his judgement, yet many are ready to eagerly vote him into the White House on Nov. 4!
In closing let me advise the reader that William Ayers was photographed standing on an American flag,so from this reader’s standpoint Mr. Ayers is not in good standing for anything period!

To all of you who are “certain” of the connection between Bill Ayers and Barack Obama, please tell me your verifiable facts that makes you so certain, and not the campaign rhetoric made popular by the GOP(Throw it on the wall and hope it sticks policy). Tell me also how the relationship with John and Cindy McCain, and certain well known lobbyists/criminals differs from any perceived illicit relationship on the Obama side.

Ed, who cares about Mr. Ayers, Wright or Rezko? they are not running for president, Obama is so, don’t waste your comments, people will vote for him no matter what!. it will take you 4 years to find out that you were wrong about him.

“You’re comparing John McCain ousting some nutjob nobody, who has no affilation with McCain himself ..“
pwanon, I think the general discussion was if race plays any role in this election. I think the comments by Mays proves there is an undertone of race.
As I noted in my comments, it is not as widespread as phdee would like to believe, but one can’t deny it will play in some parts of the country.
Nice of you to clarifiy you personally are “above” the race issue by your added comments showing you have not even considered the issue of race and the candidates.
I guess none of us are prejudice against persons of color, we only have different levels of acceptance…

“No, I don’t think phdee is fully correct on racism but where there’s smoke, there’s gotta be some fire.“
I had my doubts before…like when you called Ayers a “peace activist”...but now I know for sure that not all the bulbs are on upstairs.
You’re comparing John McCain ousting some nutjob nobody, who has no affilation with McCain himself…to a 20 year “uncle-nephew” relationship that clearly establishes BHO’s tolerance of racism towards whites.
Wow. I guess we should just go ahead and call Wright a “faith-based racial healer” while we’re at it.

DANVILLE, Va.—Republican presidential candidate John McCain’s campaign has ousted prominent Virginia GOP figure Bobby May who wrote in his column, “The (clarified) platform of Barack Hussein Obama,“ that if the Democratic senator were elected he would hire rapper Ludacris to paint the White House black and change the national anthem to the “Black National Anthem.“
No, I don’t think phdee is fully correct on racism but where there’s smoke, there’s gotta be some fire.

White men marched my ancestors from their lands in North Carolina to Oklahoma, but surprisingly enough I don’t feel like exacting retribution, or hatred toward their decendants.
I wasn’t around for that, and neither were current-day Caucasians. I can hardly hold them accountable for their forefathers’ actions.

pwanon: you obviously don’t understand anything about racism. I sense you bekieve that racism, segregati9on, the civvil war, lynchings, murders, etc by racist whites was just “getting exercise” and was reassinable, warranted, and approproiate.
Why would ANYONE enjoy slavery, and be so thankful to the masters? Racism has been around for more than 100 years in the US. Haven’t you ever heard whites tell racist jokes. Don’t you recall how blacks were treated, or did you approvce of such treatment?
Put yourself in the black’s shoes. why wouldn’t they hate the white man? Why did the whites hate the blacks?
Racism is very rampant today. The Repubs are playing the race card in this election. There are lots ofold farts out there - racist swine - who once in the voting booth will say “I ain’t voting for no n******“. Fortinately, this white trash is rapidly dying out. Good riddance. Like you, they have made this country ugly.

“continued to endorse racisim”
Hmmm…Endorsing racism? Would that be the same as sitting in the pews of a church where racism was spewed most Sundays FOR 20 YEARS…and not protesting it whatsoever?
Because to me…not saying a single word to the contrary when your “spiritual mentor” curses all white people is, without a doubt, “endorsing racism”.

gwenandgary,
Just to make a comment; I’m also a recovering Libertarian who was a registered Independent for over twenty years. I switched to Democrat in 2003, partly as a result of hearing Howard Dean speak about what Liberalism really meant.
The other part that caused my switch was realizing that I could never in good conscience ever support a Republican, as long as Republicans continued to endorse racisim and run on a platform that was designed to divide Americans instead of bringing Americans together.

“Are you making an implied assumption that George W. Bush is now a productive member of society?“
<sigh> No Ron, I knew the paragraph needed some work, but I had to GO to work and left the thought dangle.
