What does William Ayers, whoever he is, have to do with any of the following?
• The largest number of unemployed in eight years?
• The Iraq War, costing about $10-12 billion A MONTH, for about five years?
• The collapse of our financial system — Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, Lehman Brothers, Merrill Lynch, Countrywide, AIG Insurance, Washington Mutual, other banks on the brink? A $750 billion bailout
sponsored by the Bush Administration and the treasury secretary?
• A stock market crash, now with the Dow below 10,000 for the first time in five years?
• The largest intervention of the federal government in our economic system since 1929?
• Health insurance at an all-time high, many losing coverage as they lose their jobs?
• A presidential candidate, who tells us, Herbert Hoover-like, that “the fundamentals of our economy are strong?”
The answer is, of course, absolutely nothing. William Ayers, who lives in the same Chicago suburb as Barack Obama, was indicted in 1970, when Obama was all of eight years old; the charges against
him were subsequently dropped during the Vietnam War years. He has been, for about 18 years, a professor, in good standing, at the University of Illinois. That’s who William Ayers is, who McCain/Palin
are trying to vilify to get your minds off the issues that should matter to you, and do matter, to all of us.
It is always the answer for those who see themselves losing, with the momentum of loss gaining steadily day by day — get the minds of voters off the things that matter and deceive them by engaging in
tricks, deception and silly issues, even if those tricks have been discredited months ago.
The American people know better. No sir, Mr. McCain, Ms. Palin, we know what matters to us…even if you don’t!
What does “William Ayers” have to do with anything that matters to the American Voters? Answer — ABSOLUTELY NOTHING!

Evidently it hasn’t been “worn” quite enough, because you’re still here.

phdee, one really has to wonder exactly who appointed you to monitor this site for any posting hat does not reflect your idol worship for Obama. No one is allowed to have a difference of opinion without you screaming at them. I guess your ideal America would be one where everyone spoke and thought just like you. How very tolerant and open-minded of you.
You are truly a hateful person, and if what you put out there is what we have to look forward to with the liberal Democrats in charge, than we should be afraid. I have never read more outright bigotry and intolerance than what has spewn from your own keyboard. You need to find a little more meaning in your life, aside from dogging and then shouting down every single poster who tries to contribute here.
Take a break for awhile so the grownups can talk.

“stranger” is usually an inclusive term, but I’m beginning to rethink my position on who is and is not “strange”.

anonmom: I’m confused. On the one hand you highly recommend Paxil, evidently because you think it has helped you, being a little kooky. Then near the end of your post, you mention commercials, indicating you are highly swayed on medicine - and politics - by ads on TV. My oh my. Is that how you became a McCain-Palin fan - and Paxil user - by watching TV ads? Perhaps the medicine has had side effects and you suffer from confusion and memory problems.
Either the Paxil or McCain ads seem to have made you full of anxiety, hate, ignorance - no - you’ve always had the latter. Since most posters on this board do not use their real names, aren’t you also screaming at strangers?

Whew, phdee, you spew anger all OVER this board. May I recommend Paxil? Not only does it help with your obvious social anxiety, but it will take the edge off the anger just a bit. Then you can spend less time screaming at total strangers and more time in the real world. I’m sure you’ve seen the commercials.

And this today from Colin Powell, who of course endorsed Senator Barack Obama as our best qualified candidate for president:
“This Bill Ayers situation that’s been going on for weeks became something of a central point of the campaign,” Powell said. “But Mr. McCain says that he’s a washed-out terrorist. Well, then, why do we keep talking about him?”
Well stated Secretary Powell, well stated.

“His case was thrown out on techinicalities. His guilt can’t be denied ..“
The neat thing about America is we are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. Therefore his “guilt” CAN be questioned.
Much like OJ. After the trial, he walked free.
