I must defend my presidential candidate, Mr. John McCain, from the scurrilous attacks against his good character. If you examine Mr. McCain’s long record in the Senate, you will see that he often
worked both sides of the aisle, a true bipartisan, even voting against his own party at times for the good of the bill that was being presented.
Contrast this with a young man from Harvard who used his law degree in Chicago to oust not only the incumbent through technicalities, but the other candidates as well to obtain his position, and then
under the guise of providing homes for low income families, helped his cronies get the money instead. I’m not making this up — look it up — homes were never built but the money is gone. Personally, I
do not see a record one can be proud of here.
His “stay” in the Senate has thus far been unremarkable, except for a bill he voted against in 2001 and again in 2003 that protected the lives of premature infants. I do not see a record one can be proud
of. Hillary Clinton had it right when she stated that both she and Senator McCain have the experience to lead. Barack Obama has a speech he made in 2004.

Do The Right Thing,
I spent 22 years defending our country. Where were you?
The pilots of US war planes are killing innocent groups of people in Afghanistan and Iraq every day. By innocent, I mean non-combatants, unarmed, and whose only crime is living in the wrong part of the world at the wrong time. For that matter, unarmed non-combatant people living in the wrong part of the world at the wrong time are being killed by Israeli pilots flying warplanes bombing apartment buildings.
Please describe the difference between a person killing people as a suicide bomber, and a pilot of a warplane killing people by dropping bombs from 20,000 feet? Inquiring minds want to know.
Oh, and President Clinton did notice the terrorist camps being set up in Afghanistan. You probably don’t remember; but when Clinton sent cruise missiles into those camps, missing Bin Laden by about one hour thanks to a tip off by our BFF Pakistan, the Republican-controlled Congress screamed bloody murder in opposition. President Clinton also devised a plan to take out Bin Laden, turned over to incoming President Bush. That plan was ignored until the day after 9/11.
Funny, that selective memory of Republicans.

“JVA and RonCharest, do the women in your families where the pants? You seem to be afraid to defend your country. “
Funny. I happen to be a US Army veteran with a 2d COSCOM combat patch on my right shoulder. I’m pretty sure Charest is a vet as well.
I kind of doubt you can say that. You sound like another chicken hawk, Cheney wannabe.
Funny how the people so in favor of war are rarely the people with the intestinal fortitude to go fight them.

JVA and RONCHAREST:
President William Jefferson Clinton was too busy with Monica Lewinsky to notice that Osama Bin Laden was setting up terrorist camps in Afghanistan during his administration.
The Kumba Ya approach to diplomacy is not working well for the Democrats.

Exciting that “Change” and “Hope” are the two operative words in BHO’s campaign. And how true they are…because by the time he gets done raising your taxes, you’d better HOPE there’s still CHANGE left in your pocket…but there probably won’t be.
Good times, getting robbed by the Democrats…

JVA and RonCharest:
Hamas has slaughtered groups of people across the World. Strapping bombs to women and children is their modus operandi. There is no comparison!
JVA and RonCharest, do the women in your families where the pants? You seem to be afraid to defend your country.

Secretary of State Madeline Albright applied pressure on the Israelis to release all of their prisoners, and guess who one of those prisoners was,“Mohammed Atta.“ Thank you Democrat Madeline Albright!
Democrats preach kindness and tolerance with terrorists. She should have let Israel deal with these terrorists. The
Israelis could care less about political correctness, something all liberals can’t comprehend. Those terrorists thanked Mrs. Albright for helping in their release by flying planes into the World Trade Center.

Just silly for you guys to continue this back and forth bull. We know everyone’s position and to continue to argue is a waste of time. RayWilliams and I have come to that conclusion long ago. No amount of back and forth rhetoric is going to change anyone’s mind at this point in the election. Regardless of who wins, I don’t want to hear Republicans or Democrats cry foul. If BHO wins then so be it. He will be my President even if I don’t like it. He’s still and American at the end of the day.

Doesn’t take much to convice do the right thing to vote against Obama - just listen wo what a terrorist has to say. Diplomacy is out - war is in. Morality of McCain, a slime and scumbag, obviously plays no role in do the right thing, i.e. mcCain must be doing the right thing.
Question: Is McCain still mentally ill as the Bush campaign crowd alleged in one of the previous election campaigns? )Maybe do the right thing has the ailment also.)

True, Mary Bell. I liked it when John McCain voted against torture, you know, before he was told to support torture and changed his vote to support Bush (keeping his percentages above 95%). A real hands-across-the-aisle kind of guy.

Do The Right Thing;
“What concerns me about Senator Obama is his naivety in dealing with terrorists. He believes he can negotiate with psychos like the President of Iran.“
Yes, because invading and occupying a country that had nothing to do with 9/11 (Iraq), while ignoring the country that did (Afghanistan) has really worked out well. Where is Bin Laden now?
Because refusing to talk with countries that are developing nuclear weapons, on basis that they have to stop development before we’ll discuss getting them to stop development, has really worked out well. North Korea developed nuclear weapons under Bush’s watch, after freezing their program under Clinton. Iran has allegedly restarted their program after freezing it under Clinton.
Because ignoring Russia’s very real security concerns has really worked out well. Russia has just concluded military actions against Georgia in apparent retaliation for that country working to get into NATO, and is threatening military action against Poland for agreeing to install ABM systems.
You think maybe, with this track record, we could try something different? Like, say, talking to people the way diplomats and heads of state have done for hundreds of years now?
