Robert T . Molleur’s March 18 diatribe against liberals’ “ irrational beliefs” was a classic. Bill Buckley must be turning over in his grave. Molleur claims liberals use “social justice” to undermine the principles on which our freedoms were founded. But those freedoms are embodied in the Bill of Rights, which is all about justice. Or do conservatives no longer believe in the Bill of Rights?

Molleur argues that liberals defend homosexual acts which occur “in the human sewer system.” Was Republican Congressman Mark Foley, who was caught preying on young male pages in the House of
Representatives, a liberal?

Was Republican Senator Larry Craig, caught trolling for homosexual partners in an airport bathroom, a liberal? Should Vice President Cheney disown his daughter because she is a lesbian? Does Mary
Cheney live in a human sewer system simply because she was born a lesbian? Talk about irrational beliefs!

Molleur states liberals demand a “parental government” to “meet their needs from cradle to grave.” Why is it that “right-to-life” conservatives cringe at the thought of spending a few dollars to keep a helpless child from starving or freezing to death, but gladly gave 30 billion dollars of the taxpayers’ money to Wall Street investment banker Bear Stearns, after it greedily bought up billions in risky sub-prime mortgages? Talk about a mental disorder!

Molleur argues liberals believe “God has no place in the public square.”

Doesn’t the Constitution provide for the separation of church and state? Or don’t conservatives support the U. S. Constitution anymore either?

Finally, Molleur claims that a liberal (presumably me) accused him of smearing Potomac News columnist Gary Jacobsen merely because he questioned Jacobsen’s views. On the contrary, Molleur did not question Jacobsen’s views; he belittled his military service.

And someone who is so blissfully ignorant of military affairs that he cannot distinguish between a corporal and a colonel or a squad and a battalion, cannot assess the military qualifications of anyone, especially a combat veteran like Jacobsen.

Thank you for the additional information! If it is a Baptist Association - it certainly has to do with baptist pastors. But this is not the point. The point is that Mr. Gary Jacobsen is using typical liberal’s technics like “twisting and distorting” of the facts in order to defend his void of reason and logic liberal ideas. And your remark does not disprove this fact.

Mr. Foley was actually a Rino, because he switched parties. Democrats nominated a union party official instead of him. He still voted liberally. Check his record and his history. Still waiting for justice with Dem. Bernie Sanders who had sex with a male page and ran a prostitution ring out of his house. In no way do i condone Foley for what he did, but where is the equal justice with Bernie Sanders? Why didn’t Democrats make him resign? Separation of Church and State where is it in the Constitution? Scorpio, if you are going to refer the famous Jefferson “Wall of Separation” letter you should know more about it. It was not written to “ministers”, it was written to a Baptist Association. An “association” to Baptists is a voluntary union of Baptist Churches that associate together for mutual support. It is not made up of “ministers”.

Mr. Remener doesn’t realize that he actually proves that “liberals use “social justice” to undermine the principles on which our freedoms were founded”. I haven’t heard anyone from the “right wing-pro-lifeers” to justify Mark Foley or Larry Craig behavior. As for Mary Cheney being “born lesbian” - Mr. Remener has probably been misinformed about the discovery of the homosexual genes which lasted about couple of weeks before the scientist who made the discovery confessed he made it up.
And on top of everything else Mr. Remener is lecturing us that the Constitution provides for “the separation of church and state” - I challenge him to show us where exactly he has read it. Or is he citing Thomas Jefferson’s letter in which he assures pastors that the Constitution forbids the Government to intevene in the affairs of the Church which was the main reason why the pilgrims ran from England and came to America.
Talking about twisting and distorting…
