Little sympathy for Letiecq from reader

As the husband of an immigrant (Chinese) wife, living in Prince William County, I read Greg Letiecq’s column “Letiecq fights back” of March 18 with great interest but little sympathy.

Reading as the next moon race

A reliable applause line in Barack Obama’s campaign speeches comes when he warns that change won’t happen overnight or easily. Nor will it come as a result of a single election. People will have to work at it.

The anxious anxiety of the unknown in Iraq

Five years have past since the beginning of the Iraq War and the only thing we know for sure is that we don’t know very much about how things are going to end.

It’s just an advertisement

The Prince William Board of County Supervisors has been unable to reach an agreement on what real estate tax rate to advertise for its fiscal 2009 budget.

Some ideas about ‘illegals’ and what to do

“Illegals” being criminals may be partially true if you take all the gang violence, but then all races are involved in this stereotype, since gangs of all races pollute this community. Hispanics are just more infamous in being gangsters.

Happy Easter!

Today is Easter. It is the day that many Christians celebrate the resurrection of their savior, Jesus Christ.

Speechless over BOCS failure

I’m speechless again.  For the third time in as many weeks, the Prince William Board of County Supervisors (BOCS) has been unable to settle on a tax rate to advertise to the public (Potomac News Article, Thursday, March 20, 2008 entitled “Board fails to decide on tax rate”).

Taking steps to decide

I frequently find myself in stressful situations. Often it’s because after I see the big picture, I get tied up in the small details.

It may be free, but I do not want it

Although the Pulse is a free newspaper, I do not want it. Not only do I think it is a waste of our precious resources, but most in my neighborhood just throw it away (some actually recycle it) without even reading it.

Liberals do not have a mental disorder

Mr. Molleur’s letter to the editor on March 18 exemplifies everything that is wrong about American politics today.

The ultimate in condescension

There’s a scene in the 2004 movie “The Alamo” where Davy Crockett (played by Billy Bob Thornton), is on his knees with his hands tied behind his back, surrounded by General Santa Anna and about a zillion Mexican soldiers with bayonets pointed at him.
