This letter is in response to the letter entitled “Obama supporters have been had.”

One of the great things about writing this column (besides getting to write it in the first place, which is great in and of itself) is the people who tell me about reading it. 

Sometimes we take a trip to Tysons Corner mall, and most of the time I am able to park my car in a handicapped slot near the entrance.

The homeless beggar near the office was smoking a cigarette and had a pack in this shirt pocket as he offered his cup for a handout. 

Rep. Frank Wolf is asking President-Elect Barack Obama to support his proposed SAFE commission, and we hope Obama does so.

The question of President-elect Barack Obama’s citizenship, and therefore his legitimacy as a candidate for president, has been raised in court. Obama has not resolved this.

A battle is raging in Prince William County over the new elementary math curriculum, “Investigations in Number, Data, and Space” — also known as “Math Investigations.” 

The post 2008 election debate that should now be engaged should be among us — so-called right-wing members of our society — addressing our loss to the left with the election of Obama to the presidency.

Promises that, perhaps, cannot be kept.

Shopping during the holiday (it’s too early to call it Christmas) season has always been fun for me. Regardless of the crowds, I enjoy taking some time to look at the decorations and listen to the ringing of Christmas bells and cash registers.

In this age of environmental awareness, it is not just individuals who are thinking about making their lives more “green.” Local governments are getting in on the act, and we will all be better for it.

I can’t believe, (well yes I can) the audacity of the writer who spoke of the Obama supporters who’ve been had.
