Occoquan officials want residents to weigh-in through a survey to gauge how well the town leaders are doing and in what direction the town should go.
"Your answers will provide town officials with invaluable information on the effectiveness of town govern-ment," wrote Occoquan Mayor Earnest "Earnie" Porta in an e-mail to town residents. "In addition, the survey will be used by the Planning Commission as it updates the town's comprehensive plan."
The comprehensive plan is the town's primary long-range planning tool for land use, transportation, commu-nity facilities and services and environmental protection.
As part of the survey, residents will be asked about police protection, refuse and recycling collection, riverfront parks; sidewalk maintenance; snow removal and minor street maintenance. They also will be asked about zoning, the Future Land Use Plan, environmental protection, municipal parking and historic preservation as well as the town's craft shows.
Residents have through May 15 to go online and complete the survey at http://www.occoquan.org.
