What were the Washington Redskins thinking?
Wednesday the Oakland Raiders released DeAngelo Hall due to his inability to defend a receiver. Hall has been burnt more than any other defensive back in the league so far this year and after his release the Washington Redskins inked him to a one-year deal on Friday.
So far this season, the former Pro Bowl defensive back has been beaten 40 times for 552 yards in the 66 passes thrown his way.
While in Atlanta, he was fined $100,000 for his sideline outburst with former head coach Bobby Petrino.
Is the Redskins defensive backfield that bad? They need help because of injury, but Hall?
To need someone as bad as Hall, things must be worse than thought for the Redskins.
Hall was a disappointment with the Atlanta Falcons and he followed that debacle with even more bad play in the Bay Area.
To be cut from a team as bad as the Oakland Raiders, you must be pretty bad yourself.
Oakland signed Hall prior to the season for $70 million. They paid $8 million of that deal before his release on Wednesday.
Hall is 24 and played his college football at Virginia Tech.
