Brittany Black struck out 14 batters and paced the offense with eight RBI as the Battlefield softball team cruised past Liberty 16-0. Black allowed two hits and three walks over seven innings, and added a grand slam and a three-run home run.  Brittany Clendenny and Courtney Liddle each hit two home runs as well for Battlefield (13-3 overall, 8-2 district). Clendenny drove in four runs and Liddle scored four times.

BASEBALL
• OSBOURN 5, LOUDOUN VALLEY 2: Cory Turner hit a three-run home run with the score tied at one in the fourth inning to give Osbourn a district win over Loudoun Valley. Turner also picked up the win for the Eagles (10-5, 5-5), allowing seven hits and striking out nine over seven innings. Steven Lippman, Travis Bruns and Brandon Coffey each collected three hits.

BOYS SOCCER
• BATTLEFIELD 5, LIBERTY 0: Adam Clements posted a hat trick in the first half to push the Bobcats to an easy win over Liberty. Reid McKee and Duke Mensah added one goal apiece for Bat-tlefield (9-2). Alan Hinton and Michael Hinkle shared the shutout.
• OSBOURN 1, LOUDOUN VALLEY 0: Zach Hoover scored the only goal as Osbourn defeated Loudoun Valley. Moris Ramirez picked up the assist for the Eagles (8-4, 4-0), and Chris Fenner had eight saves.
• HYLTON 5, POTOMAC 0: Rogelio Hernandez scored twice in the Bulldogs’ win over Potomac. Aaron Etienne, Zach Rusk and Gustavo Sandoval added one goal apiece for Hylton (4-7, 3-4), while Edwin Zolano, Fernando Camacho and Yovani Cruz each had one assist. Jonathon Sheffield and Andrew Kelly combined for the shutout.

GIRLS SOCCER
• BATTLEFIELD 6, LIBERTY 1: The Bobcats scored three goals in the first six minutes to se-cure a win over Liberty. Sahar Aflaki scored twice, while Jessye Jewell also posted two goals and an assist. Domonique Evans had one goal and one assist for Battlefield (11-1, 4-0), and Emily Heston scored once. Pamela Norkus collected two assists, and Kaylyn Shaffer and Kristen Norkus each had one assist. Kristen Norkus also had three saves in goal.

• HYLTON 4, POTOMAC 1: Sydney Morris scored twice and the Bulldogs defeated Potomac. Kelly Bowen and Breiana White scored once each, while Bowen and Jennifer Cathcart had one assist apiece for Hylton (6-5-2, 3-2-1).
Brianna Hines scored for the Panthers.

BOYS LACROSSE
• WOODBRIDGE 6, GAR-FIELD 1: Devin Bushweller and David Estoclet each scored twice to help the Vikings defeat Gar-Field. Bushweller added two assists, while Estoclet posted one. Drew Bouchard and Mark Flores rounded out the scoring for Woodbridge (5-6, 3-1), and Aaron Bradley had nine saves.
Eddie Hatcher scored the lone goal for the Indians, and Michael Beck posted 12 saves.

GIRLS LACROSSE
• HYLTON 11, POTOMAC 6: Karly Lynch tallied four goals and three assists to help the Bull-dogs beat Potomac. Lauren Fletcher followed with three goals and two assists, and Tia Daubach added two goal and one assist. Kaitlen Brown and Rachel Stoker also scored for Hylton (4-2-1, 3-1). Nicole Carpenter had 10 saves.
For Potomac, Maggie O’Neill scored six goals and Emily Cribb had ten saves.
