Sebastian Jaramillo scored three goals and Luis Vasquez recorded two goals and three assists to lead Christ Chapel (2-3) to a 6-1 victory over Word of Life Academy in boys’ soccer.
Brent Boros recorded one goal and one assist and Adrian Chuquillangui contributed an assist.
James LaCray scored Word of Life’s goal and was assisted by Champ Flye.
GOLF
Hylton won a Cardinal District tri-match on Tuesday with a score of 177 at Forest Greens Golf Course.
Hylton’s Alex Colantuoni was the medalist. He shot a 41 and teammate Mike Weakly a 43.
Potomac finished second with a score of 185. Potomac’s Edgar Quinones shot a 41 and Ryan Moriarty a 42.
Nick Rogowski shot a 43 for Woodbridge and Brian Wirth shot a 45. The Vikings’ team score was 188.
VOLLEYBALL
• OSBOURN PARK 3, OSBOURN 0: Junior Camille Purrier put up a valiant effort with five kills and two blocks for Osbourn, who lost in three games.
Osbourn Park beat host Osbourn 25-10, 25-14, and 25-12 in a Cedar Run battle.
Osbourn (3-6 overall, 1-6 in the district) will host to Battlefield on Thursday in another Cedar Run match. Another key performer for Osbourn was junior Amanda Best, with three kills.
• GAR-FIELD 3, FREEDOM 0: Senior Celina Vanegas led the Indians to their first Cardinal District game with 13 service points.
Gar-field won 25-17, 25-14, and 25-20, and is 1-0 in the district, 4-3 overall. Other key players were seniors Kirstin Griffin with seven assists and Kristi Arbagast with nine kills.
Gar-field hosts another Cardinal District foe, Woodbridge, on Thursday.
• MANASSAS PARK 3, GEORGE MASON 1: In a Bull Run District opener, senior Leann Breeden led a high powered offense for Manassas Park with seven aces and seven kills.
Manassas Park won the first game 25-11, lost the second 25-17, and won the last two, 25-17, and 25-17, making them 1-0 in the district and 7-2 overall.
Other key players were seniors Ashley Kettler with seven kills, Alyssa Robinson with 24 assists and junior Karen Bigelow with two digs.
• HYLTON 3, POTOMAC 0: Hylton took charge of Cardinal District foe Potomac, winning three games in a row, 25-9, 25-17, and 25-16 to improve to 8-4 overall, 2-0 in the district.
Senior Karly Lynch led the offense with 14 digs, seven kills and four aces. Other top performers were senior Emily Cashdollar with 17 assists and three aces, and sophomore Caitlin Thomas, with seven kills and five aces.
