Gannon pitches six-plus strong innings in Seton victory

• Seton 2, Fresta Valley 1: Collin Gannon struck out nine over 6.2 innings as the Seton School Conquistadors (5-4) won at home, defeating Fresta Valley, 2-1 in prep baseball action. Mike Byers recorded the games final out with a strike out to earn the save.
Down 1-0 in the bottom of the second, Jim Shannon singled with two outs then stole second base. Sean Byers hit a two-strike single to score Shannon.
Seton took the lead for good in the bottom of the third on a sac bunt by Alex Harrill that scored Jack Shannon.
• Manassas Park 3, Rappahannock 2: Gipper Breeden pitched a complete game six-hitter for the Cougars (3-5, 2-1). Breeden walked two while striking out four Panthers while holding Rappahan-nock scoreless for the games final five innings. Breeden also finished 2 for 4 batting with an RBI. Mike Mehus went 1 for 4 with an RBI and Chris Jewell's sac fly in the top of the second proved to be the winning run.
SOFTBALL
• CULPEPER 3, STONEWALL JACKSON 0: Senior Nichole Beale struck out 15 batters and held Stonewall to two hits on Thursday night.
Girls Tenni
• Gar-Field 6, Potomac 3: The Indians (6-2, 5-2) picked up a tough road win thanks to some fine doubles play. Maschal Temory and Alecia Gaddis (10-3), Shannon Howard and Morgan Watts (10-7), April Santos and Jackie Meadows (10-2) swept doubles play for Gar-Field.
Temory, Santos and Gaddis picked up singles victories for Gar-Field.
• Osbourn Park 8, Fauquier 1: Shanique Alabi (6-4, 6-1), Chelsea Gray (6-1, 6-1), Libby Butler (3-6, 6-4, 6-1), Kelly Flom (6-0, 6-0), Mandy Arnett (6-1, 6-2) and Michele Flom (6-0, 6-0) won sin-gles matches for the Yellow Jackets (6-2).
Alabi, Gray, Arnett and Michele Flom won doubles matches for OP.
• Freedom 7, Hylton 2: The Eagles picked up their first Cardinal District victory of the season at Hylton. Krystal Anyang-Kusi (6-4, 6-4), Fatmatta Wurie (6-0, 6-0), Angie Leon (6-0, 6-0) and Mairel Gonzalez (6-0, 6-0) won singles matches for Freedom.
Anyang-Kusi and Gonzalez also won their doubles match 10-7. The Bulldogs forfeited their num-ber two singles match and their number three doubles match.
The win was the first ever for Freedom (3-6, 1-5) at Hylton.
Girls Soccer
• Christ Chapel 3, NVCA 0: Annie Boros tallied all three Christ Chapel goals with assists from Dani Lobo, Karli Bryant and Anne Marie-Moffett.
Boros scored the games first goal in the middle of the first half as Christ Chapel (3-3-1) took a 1-0 lead into halftime. Boros scored for the second time early in the second half and tallied her third and final goal in the middle of the half.
Girls Lacrosse
• Osbourn Park 11, Fauquier 9: The Yellow Jackets (4-5, 2-0) picked up their second District win of the season with a home win over Fauquier. Katie Gonzalez scored six goals while Kira Bolton scored three goals and added one assists to lead the Yellow Jackets.
Maggie Breeden and Anna Howard each added a goal while Kacie Nolan finished with two assists.
• Loudoun Valley 17, Osbourn 5: Ginney Iames scored two goals while Corrie Mitchell, Megan Vahey and Morgan Campbell scored one goal apiece. Amber Meek made 15 saves for the Eagles (6-3, 1-1) who dropped their first Cedar Run District game of the season.
Boys Lacrosse
• Hamburg Central 19, Woodbridge 2: David Estoclet scored both Vikings (2-5) goals while Devin Bushweller and Drew Bouchard had the assists. Aaron Bradley made 17 saves for Woodbridge. Hamburg Central is ranked number two out of 32 boys lacrosse teams in New York.
Boys Tenni
Gar-Field High School's boys tennis team won its first match of the season, defeating Po-tomac Thursday 5-4.
The Indians (1-4 in the Group AAA Cardinal District) won at No. 1, No. 2 and No. 6 singles and at No. 1 and No. 3 doubles.
Satoru Lyons defeated O'Neil Paul 6-1, 6-0 at No. 1, Kishan Khana defeated Mario Ve-laquez 6-1, 6-1 at No. 2 and Brian Gomez defeated Maxi Moon 7-5, 6-1 at No. 6. In doubles, Lyons and Sachin Sharad defeated Paul and Velaquez at No. 1 10-5 and Derik Kim and Gomez defeated Sunny Patel and Moon, 10-7 at No. 3.
For Potomac, Absan Zaman defeated Will Hughes 6-0, 6-0 at No. 3, Patel defeated Kim 6-2, 7-6 at No. 4 and Josh Risinger defeated Sharad 6-0, 6-2 at No. 5. In doubles, the Panthers' team of Zaman and Risinger defeated Hughes and Tommy Tran 10-3 at No. 2.
WEDNESDAY's RESULTS
GIRLS TENNIS
• GAR-FIELD 7, WOODBRIDGE 2: On the strength of a sweep in doubles and wins by its three lower seeds, Gar-Field topped Woodbridge in a Cardinal District girls tennis match.
The Indians' top seed, Mashal Tamory, won, as did their bottom three seeds, Alecia Gaddis, Jackie Meadows and Morgan Watts. The sweep in doubles assured Gar-Field (5-2) a victory.
Rachel Carr and Madeline Burgos won singles matches for the Vikings (4-2).
GIRLS LACROSSE
• BATTLEFIELD 11, FOREST PARK 7: Ali Schumacher scored four goals and recorded six ground balls to help the Bobcats (6-1) win a non-district match.
Battlefield's Kim Esteban recorded three goals, one assist and two ground balls and Jes-sica Jacobson had three goals and three ground balls.
