Defender Carlos Menjivar also scored for Gar-Field, a strike from approximately 40 yards out on an un-cleared ball.
Eric Amaya added an assist, on Painter’s second goal, and Luis Guevara posted five saves for the Indians.
BASEBALL
OSBOURN PARK 5, CULPEPER 1: Matt Waiman threw a three-hitter and George Piccirilli hit a three-run homer as Osbourn Park High School’s baseball team defeated host Culpeper Wednesday in a Group AAA Ce-dar Run District game.
Waiman improved to 3-0 after striking out eight and allowing no earned runs. Piccirilli’s blast came in the sixth inning with Culpeper up 2-1 at the time.
Ryan Heckman went 3-for-4 with a double and an RBI and Ian Heckman went 2-for-4 with a triple and two runs scored.
The Yellow Jackets improved to 8-1 overall and 3-0 in the district.
GIRLS TENNIS
OSBOURN PARK 5, BATTLEFIELD 4: The Yellow Jackets won at No. 3 singles with Libby Butler (7-6 (7-5) 6-3), No. 5 singles with Kelly Flum (3-6, 6-3, 6-2) and at No. 6 singles (6-0, 6-0).
Osbourn Park (4-1) also captured No. 1 doubles with Shanique Alabi and Chelsea Gray (10-7) and No. 3 dou-bles with Mandy Arnett and Michele Flum (10-8).
Battlefield won at No. 1 singles with CeCe Greco (7-6, (9-7) 6-3), No. 2 singles with Briana Malley (2-6, 6-4, 7-6) and No. 4 singles with Helen Huynh (7-5, 6-1).
The Bobcats’ No. 2 doubles team of Huynh and Louisa Poreda won 10-8.
STONEWALL 6, CULPEPER 3: The Raiders won at No. 1 singles with Kristine Davis (6-4, 3-6, 6-3), No. 4 sin-gles with Alexis Wissinger (7-5, 6-3), No. 5 singles with Angela Ellica (6-3, 6-2) and No. 6 singles: Leigh Sender-witsch (6-4, 4-6, 7-5).
The Raiders also won at No. 1 doubles with Davis and Emilie Bouchet (10-2) and at No. 2 doubles with Olivia Bouchet and Wissinger (10-8).
FOREST PARK 5, GAR-FIELD 4: The Bruins won at No. 1 singles with Reagan Travis (6-1, 6-0), No. 2 singles with Chelsea McClure (6-2, 6-2) and No. 6 singles with Grace Baldwin (6-2, 6-2).
Forest Park won No. 1 doubles with Travis and Beth Snodgrass (11-9) and No. 2 doubles with McClure and Katrina Brown (10-1).
For Gar-Field, Shannon Howard won at No. 3 singles (7-6, 3-6, 6-1), Alecia Goadis won at No. 4 singles (6-1, 6-1) and Jackie Meadows won at No. 5 singles (6-2, 6-4).
April Santos and Meadows won No. 3 doubles for the Indians (10-4).
WOODBRIDGE 6, FREEDOM 1: The Vikings improved to 2-0 in Cardinal District play and 2-1 overall with their near sweep of the Eagles.
Among singles play Woodbridge No.1 Emily Schrieber (6-2, 6-2), No. 2 Rachel Carr (6-1, 6-0), No. 3 Madeline Burgos (6-2, 6-1), No. 4 Meredith Peters (7-5, 6-0) and No. 6 Leslie Steiger (6-1, 6-3) recorded wins.
The Vikings’ top-seeded doubles team of Schrieber and Carr won the only pairs match, 10-1.
Mairel Gonzalez recorded Freedom’s lone win of the day, a 4-6, 7-6, 6-1 victory as the No. 5.
BOYS TENNIS
CULPEPER 6, STONEWALL 3: The Raiders won at No. 1 singles with Jimmy Davis (6-0, 6-0). No. 2 singles with Stephan Lemmer (6-3, 6-2) and at No. 1 doubles with Davis and Lemmer (10-2.)
FOREST PARK 6, GAR-FIELD 3: For the Bruins, T.J. Acquah won at No. 2 singles (6-2, 6-0) followed by No. 3 Ramana Kanth (6-4, 6-1) and No. 6 Nick Imperato (6-3, 7-5)
In doubles, Acquah and Tingstrom won at No. 1 (10-6), Kanth and Benjamin Bonano won at No. 2 (10-7) and Imperato and John Mayen-Krogstad won at No. 3 (10-6)
For Gar-Field, Satoru Lynos won at No. 1 singles (6-3, 6-4), Will Hughes won at No. 4 (6-0, 6-3) and Derek Kim won at No. 5 (6-4, 5-7, 6-4).
BOYS LACROSSE
OSBOURN 11, BATTLEFIELD 5: In a Cedar Run District match at Osbourn, the Eagles improved to 6-0.
Matt Sutton had six goals, while Kiel Cooke had three goals and six assists and Nathan Smith had two goals
Britt Hoover led the Bobcats with two goals.
WOODBRIDGE 11, JAMES MONROE 2: It was a night of hat tricks at Woodbridge as the Vikings had three players score three goals each.
Devin Buschweller (three assists), David Estoclet (two assists) and Drew Bouchard all found the back of the net three times apiece for the Vikings (2-3).
Zach Goble and Michael Herrity each added a goal. Brandon Downs, Josiah Walczuk and Joseph Ruiz re-corded an assist each.
STONEWALL 17, POTOMAC 3: Ty Kashur led the way for the Raiders with six goals and one assist as Stonewall improved to 3-1-1 on the season.
Simon Eyi scored five times and Kyle Smith added a goal and three assists. Strong defense and goal tending helped hold the Panther scoring to a minimum.
Girls soccer
WOODBRIDGE 7, GAR-FIELD 1: Kristen Lybert scored three times and added an assist in the Vikings’ deci-sive win, moving Woodbridge to 4-1 on the year and 1-0 against Cardinal District opponents.
Taylor Miller added a goal and an assist herself with Shondel Archer, Kimmie Cummings and Brianna Not-tingham each scoring once. Katie Douez assisted on two scores and Chelsea Kit also recorded a an assist.
Tammy Clark scored the lone goal for the Indians.
Girls lacrosse
OSBOURN PARK 16, HYLTON 13: Katie Gonzalez scored five times and assisted once as the Yellow Jackets evened their record at 1-1 with the home win.
Kira Bolton added four goals and Whitney Thomas and Anne Marie Moore each scored twice.
Kacie Nolan and Anna Howard each scored a goal and recorded an assist with Aidan Priest rounding out the scoring for OP.
Goalie Liesl Diesenderfer stopped 11 shots for the Yellow Jackets.
Kally Lynch scored five goals for Hylton, with Laure Fletcher contributing four. Tia Daubach added three and Rachel Stover scored once.
Nicole Carpenter recorded 12 saves in goal for the Bulldogs.
