Stephanie Kesterman picked up her first victory as a member of the Osbourn Park softball team on Friday as the Yellow Jackets completed play at the Grand Strand Classic with a 4-0 victory over Robinson.
Kesterman, an all-district pitcher at Woodbridge last spring, allowed four hits and struck out four against the Rams.
The Yellow Jackets (3-2) won their final three games in the Myrtle Beach Tournament, beating Gar-Field, South County and Robinson.
Sophomore first baseman Michelle Menefee went 2 for 3 and started both rallies against Robin-son, while Sheila Davies and Lauren Stewart combined for seven RBI during the three-game winning streak.
BASEBALL
• OSBOURN 1, ROCKY MOUNT 0: Osbourn scored once in the first inning and made the lead stand up in a 1-0 win over Rocky Mount (N.C.) Academy on Friday in the opener of the Tarboro Easter Classic.
Osbourn (1-0) plays Lawrence (N.C.) Academy today at 4 p.m.
The Eagles' only run came from Ben Garlic, who walked and advanced to second on a wild pitch. Brandon Coffey then doubled to bring home Garlic.
Eagle pitcher Cory Turner threw all seven innings, allowing one hit and one walk while striking out 12.
